Cattle Company Steakhouse

Tonight, the kitchen and bar were running at a sluggish pace. Additionally, we were forced to wait an extra 20 minutes past our reservation time because of disorganization at the hostess stand.

We enjoyed the friendly service and intimate atmosphere in the extended dining room. This is a great location for couples or a group of friends. Service is well-timed and accommodating for special requests.

We have eaten here many times and never had a problem with portions. The filet was a 6 oz and we ordered 8 oz. when we asked the waiter she gave attitude and blew off our request to check and see if we had the right size Ver carta

Seeing that it is hard to find a good steak in Anchorage Alaska, I tried a place known for good steak. The cuts were not great and preparations were good but not having better quality cuts surely shows... NY and Ribeye ordered and were both poor cuts. Consolation the wagon wheel campfire coupon made it a little easier on the pocketbook, but if paying a steak house for a good cut, a good steak, it was off the mark there...

The service was unusually bad. It was not busy yet, but it took 10 minutes to come for our server. She took both drinks and food orders. 20 minutes before she even brought our drinks. 30 minutes after the order we got our salads and 10 minutes later our appetizers and dinners came together. There were also errors on the order. She never asked if we wanted to refill drinks. We often come here and I have to say that the service goes downhill.

We booked a reservation through Open Table. When we checked in the Hostess called us walk-ins without even checking the reservation. Fortunately our server Wallace made sure that was changed so we collected the Open Table points. Also we had requested bar seating which didn’t happen either. We ordered broccoli as a side dish—it was mushy so I sent mine back and opted for coleslaw. My husband ate his broccoli. I ordered the lobster thermador and it was nothing like pictured—won’t order that again! I picked out the lobster and mushrooms but the rest was a congealed mess. Ver carta

My fiancà and I both had to send our steaks back because they were not cooked properly. Mine was nearly raw (ordered medium rare). My fiancà asked to leave off one item (blue cheese) and was directed to order a different dish and instead add in the other items. It ended up costing us more with the server’s direction. The crab cake was terrible...tasted freezer burnt. The shrimp was overcooked. I normally don’t leave reviews like this but everything was so thoroughly bad I felt it is warranted. On the plus side the wine we ordered was good, even if our server didn’t know how to open it.
