"Just disappointed that friends from jersey came to STATEN island and I have had very good experiences at Taverna in the past, but they were out of so many of our requests. First was a chocolate martini, they could not make that. Then I asked for king crab legs, which they didn’t have, which I can understand. They usually don’t have them(then take it off the menu). They did not have lobster tails! They did not have the caprese!! My husband asked to swap out clams for scallops, they had no scallops! Although the food we got was good, it was just highly disappointing and we will not be back."

First time dining at Taverna on the Bay. Welcoming experience and ambiance. Service was a bit slow Our meal was delicious! Oysters, tuna, filet of sole. My expresso martini was made to perfection. We will definitely return.

Taverna consistently exceeds expectations. Even after relocating to New Jersey a few months ago, we still make the journey because it remains one of our favorite restaurants. The staff and owner are exceptional. They serve the finest paella I've tasted in the United States, and the socarrat – the delicious crust at the bottom of the skillet – is undoubtedly one of my favorite dishes in the world. Sometimes, the simplest pleasures are the most enjoyable.
