You order at bar and they bring food to you, only reason for mediocre service rating. Pulled prk on toasted bun was excellent!

We went out for drinks a few times during our stay. This is a large shed like building, but they really make it work in a cute way.

They had music that day, the Midnight sun. It was awesome! Great band, dance floor is really great also. They have tables you can sit at or little couches with little tables. Ver carta

Best food on our entire South Dakota vacation! Unique cuisine that doesn’t rely on bacon cheeseburgers. Great atmosphere (despite a few flies). Friendly staff who went out of their way to make our kid’s birthday extra special. Large selection of drinks. Couldn’t ask for more!

My husband and I just got back from a trip to SD and the Custer Beacon was recommended by another Saloon. We loved it so much we diverted to spend the last couple of days in Custer. This is a must. We met one of the owners Julie and she is nothing but Class! Great Music, food and entertainment. Something for everyone. Wide open space and all ages were enjoying. A refreshing stop. Ver carta

I took a picture of this place to remind myself and my family visiting not to go. We didn?t have a good experience. You go up to the counter and pay for your food up front which was different. People brought their dogs in?. Not service animals. Hair anddander was everywhere. Now I?m talking about dining Inside not outside. Blah the food was nothing to write home about. Wouldnever go back .

In Custer at start and end of vac.Another bartender recommended this place. Hit it 3 times. Walked in, incredible open space with live music.A nice lady offered my wife her bar seat, turns out it was the owner. Great outside area, family friendly. Good prices, better than ok food but great vibe. Wed-Sat. not fancy, order your food at the bar, take a number and sit down. Bathrooms take a little getting used to

This place might as well be the Custer, SD visitor center. We were in town (or just outside of it) for three nights and we stopped by every night for food, live music, and karaoke. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the only MUST during ourentire trip in South Dakota. We did a lot: Mount Rushmore, ATVing, hiking, Deadwood, but The Beacon is what I find myselfthinking about today at work. The food was really good (I got ribs) and was served from the side building after ordering fromthe bar. The interior venue space is large and well-designed.
