"My family booked a room for one night to break up our journey from Tupper Lake to Lake George. We arrived late at night and were surprised to find a separate cabin on a hill away from the office/restaurant with difficult access via a steep car path. The website did not accurately portray the setup, and we were expecting a more traditional motel layout. The cabin was in poor condition, with outdated furnishings from 1977, threadbare bedspreads, a worn-out sofa, lumpy beds, and broken lights. The bunk bed was unstable and lacked a railing, and the bathroom was rough with chipped paint and mildew. There were several bugs present, likely attracted by the lack of upkeep. The owner was friendly, but we could not imagine getting a comfortable night's sleep in such conditions. If someone is looking for basic accommodation near a ski slope and does not mind the lack of maintenance, this place may be suitable. However, I would not recommend it for families or anyone seeking a relaxing getaway. We left so quickly that we did not even take photos."

Food was awesome. Service not so much. Need to get past the curmudgeonly proprietor.

We love to order takeout meals here. It's gourmet, fresh and a good value. I am looking forward to checking them out in person when Covid is over, the dining room looks incredible! Ver carta

we have gone to the inn on gore for about 10 years and have never been disappointed. also while covid was the takeout amazing. we really enjoy the vegetarian options, especially the weekly vegetarian speciality. for carnivores they can not go wrong with grandmas gravy.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered at this restaurant. The seafood in the shrimp and scallop scampi was cooked perfectly, the crab cake was the best I've ever had, and I would choose the veggie melt over a burger any day. In short, we were extremely satisfied with our meal.

beautiful large rooms and many beds for many people (we had only 2 of us so distributed everywhere) could be 6 people comfortable and more space on the couch or if they had a stroke mattress. we had bare, but they hardly heard through the walls. owners are friendly and make them welcome. only disappointment was not a tw. The chef at this restaurant is vegan, which is a great find in the Adirondacks! The owners, a man and a woman named Koch, run this lovely establishment. They were friendly and accommodating, making sure to cater to our dietary requirements. The restaurant is only open for dinner on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Our experience was exceptional - 5 stars all around. We can't wait to return!

They had good food, owner was excruciatingly rude. I have sat at the bar to eat there before no issues but he refused to take our order after i saw him take two other peoples orders, then he scoffed at our appearance (I have long hair and my gf had a tiedye on) as if we were to old for such nonsense (0nly 26) Then made us wait over 20 minutes to get a waitress or drinks for us. It was obvious he was hoping we would leave but at that point if staying made his night worse then ours I was staying. Once we finally got the food he angrily asked me how it was and I politely said it was very good. he then stormed off, Came back and did it again raising his voice. You could tell he was annoyed that...

"To elaborate, the location might seem deceptively unremarkable, situated just north of Thrasher's Corner amidst a cluster of strip malls that stretch for several blocks on all sides, with a similar scene repeating a mile north, where shopping abounds. However, once inside, you're welcomed into a clean, serene atmosphere that feels inviting and immaculate. The hostess on the day of my visit was both friendly and efficient, multitasking as a busser and server during the transition from lunch to dinner. I was promptly seated. The flooring is polished concrete, which can be a bit slippery when wet but is aesthetically pleasing and impeccably maintained. The dark wood walls and furniture, complemented by black curtains that divide different areas, not only enhance privacy but also help to absorb sound, creating a relaxed vibe. The menu features several cooked dishes, such as teriyaki and roasted or grilled finfish, along with many appealing options for children. While the drink menu emphasizes beer and wine, the sake I chose was delightful. They serve it in a small decanter with space for ice cubes, allowing it to chill without diluting—an innovative touch that’s both practical and charming, resembling a delicate piece of art. For my appetizer, I ordered the seaweed salad, which was beautifully plated with extra lettuce for an added visual appeal. This simple dish transformed into something fancy with just a few thoughtful touches. Next up was the miso soup, which had a slightly tart flavor, likely due to the wide-leaf seaweed included. I thoroughly enjoyed every drop. For the main, I opted for the 12-piece sashimi, which was perfectly timed to arrive after I finished my soup and salad. It was exquisitely presented, adorned with cucumbers, shredded daikon, and tiny cucumber cups filled with ginger and wasabi, alongside decorative vegetable elements. The visual appeal was nothing short of spectacular, and the fish was wonderfully soft and buttery. Next time, I might request to skip the superwhite, as it’s a personal preference of mine at sushi places, but it was quite tasty this time and certainly a favorite for many. Overall, I wouldn’t change a thing about this restaurant—except perhaps to wish that it were closer to my home."
