"Talk about true Caribbean food! I cannot express enough just how authentic and delicious this restaurant is. Peter is a true master of his craft. From the moment you enter the restaurant you are transported to a Caribbean atmosphere with music, video imagery, and the scents of truly traditional food. I have been to almost every Caribbean place in Jacksonville and none holds a candle to Irie Diner. The jerk chicken was the best I’ve ever had and I’m a regular Caribbean traveler. Tender, juicy, and full of jerk flavor. It’s so well cooked that there was a delicious jerk gravy left at the bottom of the dish that I couldn’t help but lick up. The plantains were literally the best I’ve had in town. No one gets a crispy exterior with the soft delicious center quite right but Irie does. The oxtails are hands down the best flavored and most tender in town. Oh and let’s not forget the cabbage!!!! If you live on another side of town it is well worth the drive and right off 295. "Wife and I got the grumpy big breakfast. (Don't quite me on this). Comes with 2 huge pancakes, bacon or sausage, hashbrown or home fries, 2 eggs any way u want and a drink for 16 bucks. U best be hungry for this. The restaurant is small and very clean. The entire staff is wonderful. Everyone helps each other. Only open breakfast and lunch. At least on the weekends you may have to wait around 30 minutes. Did not wait long for food and it was cooked correctly. The tall girl organizing the controlled chaos was one of the best workers I have seen in an extremely long time. Will be back many more times. For first timers they serve many types of breakfast items and lunch and dinner type food as well any time of day."

"We made a reservation tonight for after the Clemson football game, we are from out of town. Well, I sent the address to my husband and he went to the wrong one. I called and they said, come on! They were so accommodating and the food was absolutely amazing! Marissa was our server and she was fantastic, all the orders were correct and delicious. She is very knowledgeable of the menu and my vegan veggie burger and kale salad (which is why I picked there) well worth the distance and was just so yummy! Don’t miss out, get your reservation and try them out!"

"Wow, I never had Puerto Rican Food before, I live down the street from this restaurant and every time I drive by I was dying to give them a try, I finally stopped by and had the Stuffed Grilled Chicken with Yellow Rice and Black Beans and two Sweet Plantains the food had some delicious taste never had food that tasted so good. and the chicken Breast was cooked perfect, it was soft and juicy. They have a great Menu with lots of selection to choose from, I also saw they have Whole Red Snapper, I will give it a try one day. I also had a round fry Potato Ball stuffed with ground beef it was so delicious it was Called Papa Rellena, its good to have Great selection of Authentic Restaurants in Orange Park not to many Authentic Restaurants around. Come give them a Try, I was also going to try the Mofongo, but I never had it before, waitress didn't recommended it since I never had it before so I wasn't sure if I was going to like the texture of Green Plantains since its a bit dry, but she told to eat it with Creole Sauce it will make Mofongo softer and will ad more flavor to it, maybe next time I will try it with Shrimps just like on their Facebook Page. They have great Selection of items on their Menu go Give them a Try."

"First time dining here and our experience was mixed. To start, we sat indoors but there were quite a few flies that were flying around the entire time. Very annoying and unappetizing.Drinks. Hubby ordered an old fashioned which he enjoyed. I got the sangria which I didn’t finish because it was very watery flavorless.Appetizer: We shared the Fish House style oysters and were pretty disappointed. The oysters toppings tasted incredibly bland. If the oysters were fresh you couldn’t tell. Desperately needed salt or some flavoring. Also we weren’t given any plates to eat the oysters with so we used the one and only napkin provided to each of us.Entree: Hubby had the lobster roll which he loved. He also got the sweet potato fries which were fine, but nothing out of the ordinary and the dip they came with was sickly sweet like a frosting.I got the crab stuffed grouper with mashed potatoes green beans. It wasn’t bad. It wasn’t great. For $26.99 I had hoped for at least pretty good. The hush puppies were dense and flavorless.The saving grace was the key lime pie. Tasted homemade and was delicious and a great balance of tart and sweet.Server was polite sweet but we had to ask her for water for plates to be cleared.Overall not an impressive experience but not terrible. We spent $157 including tip and felt food should have been higher quality. Not expecting a 5 Star experience but definitely needs improvement in seasoning and flavor."
