"First off, the atmosphere was incredibly relaxed, making it perfect for an intimate evening. The background music was just the right volume, providing ambiance without overpowering our conversation. The low lighting created a wonderful mood, particularly complementing their impressive bourbon selection. Speaking of drinks, their craft spirits were nothing short of amazing—each one unique and bursting with flavor. My friend ordered the Oak Old-Fashioned while I tried the House Gin and Tonic and the 86. All of these drinks were expertly balanced and flavorful without being overly strong. My friend was curious about what made his old-fashioned so special, and our server Trevor shared that he used a unique dark walnut bitter for an added twist. Trevor was fantastic, along with the rest of the staff, who consistently refilled our drinks and checked in on us throughout the evening. As for the food, we began with some delicious ceviche and the house nachos topped with brisket, both of which were outstanding appetizers. For our main courses, we ordered the braided pork shoulder served with homemade cheese and roasted Brussels sprouts. This dish was a perfect balance of Southern comfort—the pork was tender and shredded, complemented by a variety of flavorful sauces. The Brussels sprouts were a unique take, offering a crispy texture while still being soft; the sauce was delightful. The Oak Smash on rosemary brioche bread was another highlight. The Angus beef patties were well-seasoned and perfectly cooked, retaining their moisture and flavor. The bourbon slide featured smoked Gouda with the Angus patty and onion marmalade, creating a delicious balance that delivered a gentle warmth from freshly cracked black pepper without being overwhelming. Lastly, we had the lamb sliders, which were probably my favorite dish of the night. The combination of the perfectly seasoned lamb burger with the addition of percussion and chow chow truly elevated the experience. Although I'm not typically a fan of lamb, these sliders transformed my perspective. Overall, I can confidently say that my time at The Oak Kitchen has been one of the best dining experiences I've had since moving to Raleigh, and they've gained a lifelong customer in me. If you haven't tried it yet, I guarantee it will be a memorable experience!"

If you?re looking for a cool, upscaled casual spot for dinner or a date. This place is a must. Our waiter was so knowledgeable on different types of bourbon/whiskey so of course we did whiskey flights. The food is out of this world. We got the deviled eggspread, Mac and cheese, sliders and more. The braised pork shoulder is a MUST. Give this place a try, you won?t be disappointed.

Just came back from this cool, contemporary bar?interesting group of workers, definitely warm?food is good and just okay value for money, TVs are not running and the crowd is more on Not college kids side. Bartender knows what is he doing and thoroughly enjoys doing it with a great sense of humor and attention to details. Lighted live plants are good idea and so are the outdoor heaters and seating arrangements. A downtown must visit spot, if you love crowds, cuisines and cocktails?. Ver carta

The food drinks at this restaurant were excellent. We could not get enough or eat fast enough to enjoy all of the food that came out of the kitchen. This place knocked it out of the park with the food options and flavors. I am unsure of the interiorof the restaurant as we sat outside on the patio (which I was melting at 92° with no fan. Overall, I enjoyed this restaurantalong with the 4 other women I was with for dinner that evening. *we also ate so fast that I forgot to take pictures of thefood.

The dishes at this restaurant were outstanding. We were so eager to try everything that we could hardly eat fast enough to keep up with the flow of food coming from the kitchen. The variety and flavors here were truly impressive. I did feel a bit insecure inside the restaurant, as we opted to sit outside on the terrace, where it was sweltering at 92°F without a fan. Overall, I had a great time at this restaurant with the four other women I was dining with in the evening. We were eating so quickly that I completely forgot to take any photos of the food!

I'm so glad I'm here tonight. The drinks delicious, the food is the best I had in Raleigh (original New Yorker, I know food). The Mac cheese is cheesy and better than your grandma?s(3 different cheeses) the Brussels sprouts mouth irrigation, the slider(Nashville, and Bourbon Slider simply perfection. Not only the correct amount of spices. The Bourbon is the upper notch. They go to the peasant market and hand choose their ingredients. Owners Hailey and assistant Tyler are southern hospitality with a pinch of Chicago. I found my place, can wait to try all Bourbons. Must visit place if you want good food and an excellent adult atmosphere. Ver carta

Everything about the Oak is great! I was visiting my sister from out of town and we decided to do dinner at the Oak Friday evening. From the time I walked in to the time I left, I was treated with the best customer service, friendliness and welcoming nature of the staff. The food was AMAZING, Glenn and Laurel are a whole vibe and the best bartenders, they are super fun and make sure your glass is never empty. They also make sure you have ample water for hydration. Now let?s talk about the plants. I am a new plant mom and fell in love with the Monstera plant! Great atmosphere, positive vibes and good food. You must check out the Oak and the bone marrow dish with the bourbon luge!

"I've been to the new Irregardless twice now. Once for a rather disappointing late brunch and a second time for a fabulous welcome back to town dinner. Their prices have definitely risen to The point where I won't be able to visit as much as I used to (and they also don't know what Eastern versus Western BBQ is, but I won't hold that against them). They're very conscious about vegan options and the dishes are still as high quality as I remember them being under the old management. Disappointed not to see any Raleigh brewing on the draft menu but the drink menu was very good. I got the most expensive vegan option of course. A North Carolina BBQ prepared maitake mushroom on mashed potatoes with a gorgeous, perfect amount of broccoli. Now the fiction kitchen has an Eastern BBQ plate which I love So I was very surprised when it showed up with a ketchup/tomato-based sauce. It was delicious Even though it was a western NC style barbecue sauce. Haha (My mom got the salmon The time blackberry cheesecake was divine. I hope they keep that one around because I'm definitely coming back for another slice. I'm happy to report that the staff are excellent, warm, friendly, and professional. Our waitress was friendly and delighted to answer all of our questions since we hadn't been for dinner yet. Brunch, the music was a little loud and by the time we actually got a table they were out of everything we wanted to order which is a little disappointing and speaks to poor planning. We did get was small but delicious. Not sure I would try brunch again unless I was really hankering for their brunch specifically and if so I would get a reservation a week ahead of time. As a person who's gone to this specific restaurant for over 2/3 of their life, I'm just glad that it's still exists and is in such good hands. I just hope they read up a little bit more on barbecue in North Carolina. And make more vegan things"
