Riverside Cafe - Carta

the first time that the service here was friendly and waiting personal was promptly ordering to take and supply food. it didn't feel rushed to just turn a table.

Found Riverside Cafe via GMaps. Eggs and corn beef hash was 10/10. Waitresses was busy but efficient and nice. Parking wasn?t terrible. I like this restaurant and would come back!

They offer vegan french toast as well as a tofu scramble. I was told the vegetarian sausages are also vegan, and a few other vegetarian items. They are a bit pricey, but the food is good. Ver carta

This place is everything a cafe should be! Very friendly staff, and the portions are generous for the money you are paying. I got the breakfast burrito with home fries (pictured) and easily could have taken a good chunk of it home. My friend got the cinnamon bun and fruit, the fruit was fresh and you could tell they were not skimping out. Recommend highly!

my wife and I have visited her tables, stands and counters for breakfast, brunch and lunch for decades. the friendly service was a constant thru several owners and two different sites. the quality of the food was unwavering. it is our restaurant “go” in the south-east maine. excellent service, reliable good rate, reasonable prices. they leave nothing to be desired.

after reading the previous reviews I was a bit skeptical to find vegan breakfast options here. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the caffe had a tofu veggie throwing and a vegan gf french toast, on other options! I felt greeted by my server, jody, attentive and friendly, as well as the authentic, local atmosphere of caffe, with local art decorating walls. I strongly recommend stopping for a meal! Ver carta

We went there on a day when all other breakfast places were closed but they were still able to serve us in 30min wait. Which wasn?t because the line was pretty long. Everything tasted great, service was professional. If you have a bigger appetite then it?s worth ordering a few different options from the menu. E.g. my boyfriend added french toast to his eggs and bacon. Their filter coffee is great! Would definitely go again.

I'd been travelling out of state to visit my great-grandma here since I was a child, before I even went vegetarian. After going vegan, eating out was difficult at best. I'm not used to being able to find good vegan food out to eat in Ellsworth, and this place had several options! I had the french toast, and it was amazing! I couldn't find a menu online so I messaged them on facebook and explained and they sent me their current menu immediately and were super kind about it! They even had a vegan section on the menu! Since moving to the area, I had been very interested in the Riverside Cafe, but they aren't open for dinner so it took a while to get there for lunch. The place has such nice comfortable ambiance, and is clearly popular with local s and travelers. The options are much better for vegetarians than vegans. I didn't feel like having french toast for lunch or a sandwich, so I asked to swap tofu and hummus for bacon and egg on the spinach salad.
