Food is authentic but it's extra spicy hot. On a scale of 1-5 for spicy food, with 1 being mild and 5 super hot, for most guests it would definitely be 5. Just be aware!

This is the best spot for desi food in the Sacramento area. The food is served well, and the service is great. Unlike most desi restaurants, they truly prioritize customer care.

This is the best Indian food I've ever come across! I initially visited their San Francisco location and was thrilled when my son informed me about the Sacramento branch. The food is freshly prepared, arrives hot, and is absolutely delicious! The staff is wonderful, too. Ver carta

Friendly staff. However, A bit overpriced for what you get. Chicken tikka masala is to oily for me/minimal on the chicken. Also, a bit disappointed how rice is not included in the cost. Have to buy separately. Never had been to and Indian restaurant where it wasn’t included..

September 2022 Update: I returned to Pandemie for the first time in a while. I ordered the Tandoori leg, lamb Gosht, and chickpeas. Unfortunately, the lamb was quite disappointing—there was hardly any meat, and it was watery. I cannot recommend it. However, dear Shalimar, your Tandoori chicken breasts are amazing!

The location is EXCELLENT with great accessibility and parking. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seatings. The menu has a lot of items. The actual menu has been printed on a very large sheet. The food quantity may be misleading because they use 16 (sixteen) OZ by weight (refer to the posted photos). The price is hefty for the quantity and quality. Ver carta

Very simple dining experience in the Resturant but very good quality food. The dishes are amazingly flavorful and very spicy. I would say that I recommend everything but if you can’t handle spicy you need to ask for mild or no spicy because even when you ask, they would tell you it’s mild but it’s NOT lol Their tea is really good, the food is top simple Indian food. I would totally recommend, the first Resturant I visit every time I land in Sacramento for sure. Again simple but delicious. The place is not fancy looking but if you would like to eat different, authentic and good. Go to Shalimar.

The food here is absolutely fantastic! I discovered this restaurant online, and it was a delightful surprise to find the dishes so flavorful. Unfortunately, when we arrived, they had run out of mango lassi, which was a bit disappointing. However, the rest of what we ordered was excellent. I highly recommend trying the desserts as well. My only criticism is that the restaurant serves drinks in non-recyclable plastic cups. I believe it wouldn't be too difficult to switch to reusable glassware, which would be a more environmentally friendly option. Other than that, I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

FOOD: Inedible The food was so bad we had to throw it all away. None of the dishes tasted as they should. Everything was greasy, especially the Kabli Channa. There was no paneer in the Palak Paneer. Okra was not cooked through. SERVICE: Terrible I ordered and paid online; got a confirmation that the food would be ready in 35 minutes. When I showed up for my pickup, no one had any clue about my order. It took them a good 15 minutes to figure it out and then another 30 minutes to prepare. Also, they didn't have some dishes I ordered, so (after all the wait! they reimbursed money for the missing items. They didn't even apologize for the mishap.
