Great food, kind of expensive (esp the cabbage) but nyc prices. Way too loud to encourage conversation. But staff are nice. No paper menus.

Never been disappointed when coming here! The braised beef noddle soup is so so delicious, and I love the turnip cake. The garlic and pork dumplings are also amazing. Highly recommend!

The food was fantastic; however, they overlooked two of our dishes. When we inquired about them, it was evident that they hadn’t been prepared at all. One was missed by the kitchen, while the other wasn’t entered by the waiter. Remarkably, we were the only customers in the restaurant at the time! Ver carta

The ambiance of this restaurant is really vibrant and inviting. We visited for lunch, and it was quite quiet at that time. The spicy wontons were decent, but the soup was absolutely fantastic—I really enjoyed it! It was packed with flavor and arrived at our table surprisingly fast. I will definitely return.

Loved this cute and cozy Chinese noodle shop on the UWS! You can watch them cook in their open kitchen so we loved sitting at the counter. Everything came out hot and fresh from the dumplings to the noodles. The vegetarian options were also delicious. Staff was very friendly. Please support your local and small businesses!

Wow! I don't know what else to say! This place has delicious food (with a menu that changes seasonally), great and attentive service (water is always filled) and a great atmosphere! The open kitchen provides a great view of the food being made and it is great to have a local spot with such fest and tasty options. In addition, they have some fun drink options as well. We visited The Tang in the Upper West Side, where the decor is modern and creates a cozy atmosphere. It's a great spot for a quick workday lunch, yet also ideal for a date. We loved the Pork Dumplings in Chili Oil; they were flavorful and a generous size. The Salt and Pepper Ribs were decent, but not as tender as we had hoped. For our group of five, we shared Beef Noodle Soup, Cold Noodles, and Spicy Diced Chicken. Both noodle dishes were delicious with ample portions, and the braised eggs were impressively satisfying.

Been to The Tang three times and have been consistently impressed. The food is well prepared and the noodle broths are rich and homely. Dishes we've liked from our visits include the Mouth Watering Boneless Chicken Thigh, the Winter Melon with Dried Scallop, the Braised Beef noodles, the Drunken Noodles and the Herbal Chicken noodles (which is really excellent). Prices, while higher than typical Chinese restaurants, are reasonable for the complexity of the dishes and commensurate with other locations in the neighborhood.

i ordered the oxtail beef noodle soup and i also tried their herbal chicken noodle soup (not pictured). both were very solid dishes (i’d rate the oxtail 4 out of 5 and the herbal chicken 5 out of 5). the broth for both was light but savory and had a home-cooked, rustic feel. the oxtail had small chunks of meat that were full of flavor and beefy goodness; however, if there’s one dish i’d recommend from here it’s their herbal chicken noodle soup— the broth is so incredibly good (definitely hit the spot for me, a soup enthusiast). noodle texture for both were on the softer side (i typically prefer a bit more bounce). i’d say my desire for this style of cooking is definitely more dependent on my...
