What an amazing experience The Castle is! I highly recommend it. We attended Tour de Fork in Olathe (which supports the Boys Girls Club), where Chef Hannah gave a presentation on her amazing cooking. We got reservations right then and there! The food was out of this world and the service was top notch. The owners, Dan Carla, set the standard for hospitality. If you want a beautiful and memorable night out, get a reservation at The Wandering Vine at the Castle.

The breakfast potatoes were excessively salty and overcooked, nearly burnt. The business hours listed on Google Maps need to be revised. In a rather rude manner, the owner insisted that we leave because they were meant to be closed from 2 PM to 4 PM, which contradicts what Google Maps shows. Throughout our visit, the excellent servers continually refilled our water and coffee, and not once did they mention the restaurant's closing time. I suggest updating the hours and that the owner improve her interpersonal skills.

The only small issue I had with the service was the wait time; it took nearly an hour to receive our main courses after ordering, even though the restaurant wasn't crowded. As for the food, everything was cooked to perfection. The sea salt bread was incredibly soft and melted in our mouths. The scallops paired with sweet potatoes and apples had amazing flavors. The braised duck was delicious, although we weren’t fans of the risotto served with it. While it complemented the duck to some extent, it was a bit too tangy and bitter, which overshadowed the duck's flavor. Around 3 PM, the owner approached us and said, "Ladies, we closed two hours ago." This was surprising since we had made a reservation and received no prior notification. She then told us she was paying her staff overtime because we were still there. We apologized and began to leave, genuinely unaware that they were closed. According to Google Maps, they are open on Saturdays from 10 AM to 10 PM. The owner raised her voice, insisting that their hours were clearly stated on their website, and scolded us for not paying attention. We went here for a Saturday night dinner date and I would say it’s pretty good! We both had 2 drinks, 1 wine glass and 1 cocktail each. My husband had the apple salad which he said was decent. I had the Caesar salad which was good but just drenched in dressing. I had the crab tortellini which was good. You get about 6-7 larger tortellini. It was the right amount of food. For our meal, we ordered the arancini as an appetizer, along with the Caesar salad and Castle Burger as our main courses. The wait for our food was excessively long, which is something every parent dreads when dining with a baby. Even after we asked the staff to expedite our order due to our little one, it took over an hour for the food to arrive. As a result, we had to pack our meals to go, which meant we couldn't enjoy a proper celebratory lunch.
