"This is an excellent spot! The food is absolutely delicious, and their cheese curds are truly exceptional. They also have a pool table, which makes it a fantastic place for me and my friends to grab lunch, enjoy some drinks, and play a few games of pool. The staff is very friendly as well! However, I've heard rumors that the owners might be closing it down, and I really hope that's not the case. My only criticism is that I've been coming here for a few years now, and the menu hasn’t changed much. I would love to see some new items added! Perhaps a few new burgers or some fresh wraps and sandwiches would really liven things up."

If you were ever wondering if you should go here, do it! The prices might seem a bit steep, but when your food is placed in front of you and you start to eat it, you'll understand the pricing. Best potatoes I've ever had in a restaurant! Can't wait to come back! Ver carta

We had lunch here to celebrate getting our second COVID booster. Hannah was very attentive and offered great suggestions. The onion rings tasted like onion donuts—it’s a must-try! P.J. ordered the Reuben and said it was outstanding. I had the Shepherd's pie, which was also excellent. We will definitely return soon. The atmosphere was fantastic, too!

I visited this restaurant in February to celebrate my daughter's and my birthdays, and I recently returned again a week ago. The food is exceptional, and the staff is friendly, always greeting you with a smile and being very helpful. Even though they were a bit short-staffed, they were quick in their service, and the dining area was cleaned up promptly after customers left. It's a wonderful place, and I highly recommend it!

West Dublin truly holds a special spot in my heart. The staff is consistently helpful and goes above and beyond to ensure a fantastic experience. While everyone is wonderful, Sam stands out as one of the best bartenders in the area, with unmatched skill behind the bar. This place is definitely one of my favorites to visit—a real gem in the bustling town of Pekin. Although Illinois isn't my favorite, this spot makes it much more enjoyable. Ver carta

A little disappointed, got there food was served with no silverware they caught it and they said they were sorry they ran out place was very noisy and crowded for an epidemic time. I'm glad they're busy though we need businesses to survive. Food ordered the shepherd's pie but it sounded really good not many places have it. Turned out presentation was awesome unfortunately there just wasn't hardly any meat or vegetables underneath the mashed potatoes

I had a rather disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was decent, but the service was excruciatingly slow. There weren't many patrons – maybe two or three other tables occupied – yet it took 25 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge our presence. Upon entering, we were greeted by the hostess, who assured us that our server would be with us shortly, but that never happened. After a long wait, we were almost ready to leave when our server finally showed up. This was our first visit on Saturday, July 16th, and it’s likely to be our last.

"Review Date: April 4th, 2016 Mehquet’s. The opening line to this post is very ‘meh’ but that’s how I felt about Maquet’s. A few people I know from Pekin raved about Maquet’s. When something pops up on my radar via suggestions or otherwise, I add it to my list and eventually get around to checking it out. On a particular day where my girlfriend and I felt like traveling but not driving 1+ hours to experience something new, Pekin was the perfect place to explore. We ended up only doing a few things and Maquet’s was our second of three stops. After parking in a small parking lot about half a block away, we entered and were greeted with probably the wood-iest bar I’ve ever been in. Top to bottom and wall to wall wood. It was well-worn wood so it had that worn in look that makes a place look snazzier rather than aged and old. In my opinion, at least. We snagged some seats at the bar and our bartender took our drink order while getting us menus. As we waited for our food, I couldn’t stop staring at the giant fridge of beers behind the bar. There were a million different beers to pick from that even the pickiest beer drinker wouldn’t have issues finding something to drink. After the beer fridge, my eyes wandered to the rest of the bar. The aesthetics of Maquet’s was perfect. It had that coziness of a coffeehouse with a mix of drunken debauchery hidden in the walls, waiting for the fun of the night to get here. There was a big dining area behind us but since we were at the bar, we didn’t go wandering. While my eyes were taking in the scene, my girlfriend’s eyes were on the food that was placed in front of us. I swiveled around and was shocked at the glorious meal placed in front of me. Now that’s what food should look like when served (see below for what I ate). We both got the Rail House Burger as we both love the kick of BBQ. Sadly, the looks were better than the bites. Yes, sadly, the food wasn’t all that great. For having bbq sauce, pepperjack cheese, haystack onions and other condiments, the burger lacked some pizzazz. So many potential ingredients for flavor and none of them worked. My shy girlfriend felt the same. All show and no wow. The french fries were decent though its hard to mess up those up. With all the praise that I heard about Maquet’s, its such a shame that it turned out to be meh. As always, I am willing to give a place a second try. I feel like maybe we just had an off day as there is no way that burger should’ve been as plain tasting as it was."
