"I love this place. It’s a beach themed diner with some amazing food. This has become my favorite breakfast spot. It’s small inside, but don’t let the wait scare you away. I’ve been here 3 times now and each time ordered something different from the menu, and have not been disappointed. I have not yet had lunch from here, so can’t rate that, although I have no doubt that is just as good. The service is great and the servers are very personable. The restaurant itself is clean and very inviting. Always look forward to eating here. Only wish I have is that they would move to a larger location."

"Never been to Apollo Beach before coming for two weeks to attend a family wedding in the area, we had to figure out where to eat. We come from North Jersey where some of the very best Cuban Restaurants are located, in such Hudson County Towns such as Union City, West New York as well as other North Jersey Towns.Our own research as well as recommendations brought us to the door of Mi Viejo Latin Cafe at 6002 N Highway 41, in Apollo Beach. The first night we got into town we went right over to Mi Viejo Latin Cafe and ordered food to go, some baked chicken, pulled roasted pork, black Rice Beans, macaroni and cheese as well as sweet plantains. When we got home with the food it was absolutely outstanding, equal to or better than many of the north Jersey restaurants we have experienced over the years.We went back to Mi Viejo Latin Cafe a second time, this time we ordered several Cuban Sandwiches, rice and beans and sweet plantains, once again outstanding food (and a lot of it) for a reasonable price.Third time is a charm at the Mi Viejo Latin Cafe. We had eight family members that would be visiting us on New Years Eve 2022. We ordered multiple trays of food (all of it described above), the amount and variety of food that was freshly prepared was enough to feed twelve people, the cost was only $157.00 dollars, extremely reasonable for what they provided us. Our guests could not believe the quality and freshness of the feast we had for them. It was so much better than getting food catered from a medium of the road Italian restaurant or plopping a turkey in the oven.In closing, all three times we went to the Mi Viejo Latin Cafe the staff there was friendly, helpful and very pleasant. We have another several days to stay, after we finish off the left overs we will be back to Mi Viejo.If you want a great experience when in the area of Apollo Beach you must try the Mi Viejo Latin Cafe.Bob Cowan and Family"

"Worst customer experience I have ever had. They do about two dishes well and that's about it. My girlfriend and I go in for one of those dishes. We did not have reservations, but there were many tables open. The two young girls hosting seemed perplexed (training issue), so I helped them out and said we'll eat at the bar. We ordered two glasses of wine, which took ten minutes (training opportunity). We ordered an appetizer, and we both ordered the same dish. After forty-five minutes and numerous times, asking our server who clearly did not know the word service (training opportunity), and finally asking three people, one more rude than the next (training opportunity). We left and only never to return again..."

"Great Cuban food! We had a late lunch. We were seated quickly and served within a reasonable amount of time. Family oriented atmosphere with a cool vibe. Plenty of room for a small group. Very affordable. House made Sangria w/sugar rim was my favorite part. It was mildly sweet and very tasty. Cuban sandwich was good and met our expectations. Chicken mojo was a bit dry for my preference, but it still good. I think it really depends on who?s in the kitchen preparing the food. It?s easy to slightly overcook chicken breast, especially if it?s been marinated in a citrus brine. I asked for a side of dipping sauce for my chips and also put some on my mojo chicken sandwich. They brought out a small homemade salad dressing. It was good. Spanish potatoes are not the kind that have been cubed and cooked with sofrito red sauce. They are a house made potato chip w/a sofrito blend seasoning. Restaurant appeared to be clean. Bathrooms could?ve been a bit cleaner. All in all, we had a good experience and would return with other guests."

"We've gone here since it opened and they missed the mark tonight. The young lady making our banana split didn't know what she was doing. And when she forgot the chocolate sauce we told her and she said it didn't come with it???? Since when? Today's generation of young workers don't tend to care what their customers think or what the wiser generations know. Too bad because we used to love this place. I hope this doesn't become the norm."
