"Came with my wife for dinner on a Tuesday around 5 pm. We got dinner for two and basically asked the server (owner? to give us a little of everything. I'm glad we did, because everything was good. Nice mix of vegetables and meats, with an array of flavors that led us to go from one to the other. The only thing we declined was rice, which was also a good decision because the spongy injera bread was the perfect accompaniment. And unlike some experiences I've had at Ethiopian restaurants, the dishes were not overly oily, just nicely sauced and seasoned. I'm not a big tea drinker, but our hot tea was also very good, like black tea with a spicy/herbal kick. Service was friendly and helpful as well, and we felt welcomed to be there. Definitely a keeper."

possesses a wonderful Ethiopian woman, after which the restaurant is named, this place is cozy, delicious and a great value. there are many vegetarian/ vegan options, including the vegetarian plate that is less than $10 and could feed two! give it a whirl that they are not disappointed.

sweet, small restaurant specializing in Ethiopian cuisine. large portions and dive in or take available. I have zöliakie (so I eat gluten-free) and they even offer gf injera (ethiopical flat bread) and I had no reaction to possible cross-contamination. this is definitiv on my go-to list to eat from now on. I absolutely loved this this place!!! I always order the Ye Beg Wet and love the injera but I ask them to wrap it when I order from grubhub and it's so much better to me. I dined in one time and the atmosphere was great the service was excellent as well. I also tried the Ethiopian coffee and fell in love! The woman making the coffee came out and had it smoking for me while she was making it and it was a great surprise. I will definitely be back and smoke some hookah at the lounge area.

This is my favorite restaurant in Rochester. I grew up here and we have a great food scene, so that is saying a lot. It's also the best Ethiopian food I have ever had. Zemeta makes the injera fresh every day and you can tell the difference. I don't even like injera, but I like Zemeta's. She also cares about the community and takes care of many people. It's a safe and warm place when I have needed a hot meal and a hug. My favorite is the shiro wot. This is an easy place to accommodate vegan and gluten free needs as well. Almost everything is dairy free.
