"Olive Garden is a classic magical, Italian eatery. We've been eating here for years. We got the call from my mother-in-law and we were over joyed when she said she wanted to go to Olive Garden. Every time we walk in, we are graced with an elegant, rustic warm decor in setting that's perfect for families to get together. Since the snowstorm is going to keep us from having Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner the next best thing is to go to the magical, Italian eatery they call Olive Garden. However, I have to take a star off because the table they let us to at first was really close together to other tables, leaving no room for my mother-in-law to sit. We tried to wave down the hostess, but her mind was occupied. I try to wave down the other staff, and I did feel a little embarrassed that I was sitting here with my hand up for several minutes. Finally one of the waitresses at the other table, got our attention. She asked at first, do you need your waitress? Then I responded if we could move to a corresponding table and she said yes, so we moved around 10 minutes later the manager came up and asked did somebody sit you here? We said no but we had to move because the table we were originally led to is to close and my mother-in-law couldn't get in so she said could you move to the table next to it because I don't have a server for this table, we were a little bit annoyed that we had to keep moving and for that I had to deduct a star However, our server was absolutely sincere, kind, warm, and welcoming to us, with my mother-in-law finally arrived. We ordered the chicken and shrimp, carbonara, seafood Alfredo and chicken Parmesan with of course, unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks. Their breadsticks are incredible and their salad never disappoints, and our food came out pretty quickly to perfection. I ordered the chicken and shrimp carbonara. The sauce was beautifully smooth and silky. Rich, flavorful and delicious shrimp did have the tails off so that made it more pleasant to eat, and they were perfectly cooked and the chicken was perfectly breaded fried and tender and super mega delicious. Despite the seeding hiccup, Olive Garden will always remain the magical Italian eatery that is in my heart. I just hope that further down the road, the prices will decrease, and they will serve the same quality of service and food."

"Pros:1. Right on the water with nice multi-tier concrete patios.2. Neat looking, big wrap around bar outside.3. Outdoor dining right on the water.4. Nice looking setup indoors w/ hardwood floors nice looking bar.5. Food is usually pretty good.6. They accommodate food allergies fairly well.Cons:1. They played ONLY county music the entire time, loudly. County is one of the most polarizing types of music, and that isn't a country bar. We were pretty tired of it and it continued (loudly) for the entire time.2. We went towards the end of August and they had 0 beers on tap, and a very limited beer bottle menu because they were going to close soon.3. They didn't have any butter Their rolls aren't really the type you eat without butter, so that wasn't great. There are stores and restaurants right nearby, so this seemed odd.4. The left side of the outdoor area is a field, volleyball pit, wood fence, and a chain link fence. All are poorly maintained and are an eyesore. Fortunately the outdoor bar blocks it for the most part. The fence on the right side is also pretty beat up and the door literally broken.5. Nearly half the lights on the strings outside are burnt out or missing.6. The entrance to the basement is very front and center for a portion of the people sitting outside, and was filled it junk cardboard boxes when we went.7. The bouillabaisse wasn't really done that well. It was in some odd turmeric sauce and the portion was quite small despite being $35. Felt like they were probably trying to empty out their stock of certain seafood stuff and figured they'd slap it together and no one would notice.8. The men's bathroom smelled like it hadn't been cleaned properly in quite a long time, and flies were buzzing around the [questionable] troth urinal.Overall, it seems like DOS isn't really being maintained very well, which is a shame. The potential is sky high with a location like that, but with the prices being charged and the availability of other places on the lake, they still need to figure out the issues I mentioned. They aren't the only game in town, and I am not sure if I can justify returning until they do fix some of these problems, because I just didn't have an enjoyable time as the issues stacked up."
