"My partner and I visited this restaurant for a midweek dinner, and honestly, I was left feeling quite unimpressed. It was one of those places that was neither great nor terrible—I might eat there again, but it's definitely not on my list of must-visit spots.
Let’s talk about the theme and layout. The cowboy-inspired Southern BBQ ambiance felt like it was trying too hard, but I didn’t quite get the full experience. It was a Thursday evening, and the spacious area was only home to a handful of diners. Perhaps the vibe would be different on a weekend with a bigger crowd, louder music, and the occasional cowboy hat.
As for the service, my server's name slipped my mind—perhaps that's only fair, given the experience. While she claimed to have a great memory, she opted to write down our order. Unfortunately, she still forgot to bring our guacamole starter because she hadn’t noted it down. However, she redeemed herself by getting the rest of our order right.
Now, onto the food. You'd expect a place specializing in BBQ to serve fantastic ribs, but you'd be mistaken. The ribs were served wet, with a heavy sauce that primarily tasted of smoke. They were fine, nothing offensive, but certainly not great. My tater tots were slightly overcooked, and while the coleslaw was decent, it didn’t stand out.
My partner had bourbon-glazed pork chops, which were acceptable but a bit too salty. It seems the kitchen has fallen into the trap that many nearby restaurants have: focusing on not being bad rather than striving for greatness.
If you're looking for really good food, this isn't the spot for you. However, if you want a place where you can enjoy a lively atmosphere with friends or just relax at the large bar while watching the big TVs, this might be the right choice. Oh, and the restrooms were clean, which is always a plus!"
