"I visited and saw this sushi restaurant in this small town and was interested because the reviews were amazing. I went in and they were very busy, but I had a place at the bar where I wanted to sit anyway. it took a very long time to get the food, but I got a suppe and an salat that came out and then an amuse bouche from the chef that was amazing. I ordered the 48 hours black bell. it sat on a bed of rice and sweet mais with something bok choy and others dingen. the first taste was delicious, it fell completely apart, but then I got a bite where it was frozen. I don't know what happened. the rice was not seasoned at all. it could have been so delicious. the texture was really nice and the sweet mais added to the taste, but not enough to make for no flavor. I then ordered the sushi and sashimi and the angry drachenrolle, I believe. the sushi is so fresh here, it just looks beautiful and it tastes divine. but the roll was my favorite. I wanted to order three more. the crunchy and the aromes that all came together, I ate this in a minute flat. it was so good, I can't recommend it enough. the restaurant is very beautiful, very nicely decorated, they are very attentive and very friendly and very courteous. I'd recommend everyone here. the only reason I didn't get a five star was that the unseasoned plate was frozen slightly. everything else was a joy. I see why they are so busy! I hope that a day will come back and enjoy this place again because it was excellent!"

"But my experience tonight was a disaster. From the beginning, the service was terrible. We were a group of 10 and wanted to sit at two empty high-top tables in the bar, but the staff treated us rudely because they wanted to keep those tables available for walk-ins. One server eventually said we could sit there, but the other remained unhappy about it and continued to give us attitude throughout the evening—despite the fact that only three customers came in after us. We repeatedly asked for water, which never arrived, and our food came out haphazardly. Who serves French fries with salads and then takes over 15 minutes to bring out the actual entrees? When the deep-dish pizza finally arrived, it was not deep-dish at all. I’ve had over 50 deep-dish pizzas at Dominick’s since they added it to the menu, and having lived in Chicago, I know what deep-dish pizza should look like. What they brought out looked more like a frozen DiGiorno pizza—it wasn’t even served in a deep-dish pan and didn’t resemble deep-dish pizza at all. It looked like a round Sicilian pie, but not as thick. When I questioned the server about it, she became defensive and agitated, even challenging me to speak with the cook. When I did, he claimed that he had made the deep-dish for 15 years and insisted it doesn’t come out in a deep-dish pan, which I knew was incorrect based on my personal experiences. The server chimed in with the same erroneous claim, saying it had never been served in a pan during her 14 years there. Our friends, who live nearby and frequent the place even more than we do, also noted that the deep-dish used to come out in the pan, and what we were served that night was definitely not deep-dish. Honestly, this was some of the worst service I’ve ever encountered, and it ranks as one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. There is no excuse for the behavior of the servers tonight. If this is how the staff treats customers, I know I won’t be returning, and I can’t recommend that anyone else does, which truly makes me sad because this place used to be a real gem that I absolutely loved."

"So this place is actually closing tomorrow. And knowing that perhaps youre wondering why Im writing this review? Well...to help the owner out. Im aware he has another location (I forget where). So this one is for you! I hope you werent surprised at your restaurant closing. To be honest...this place sucked. Me, my mom, and younger brother were legit the only ones in the place the other day for lunch. Our food took awhile to come out. And by awhile I mean more than 20 minutes which is crazy due to us being the only ones there. The food....was horrid. It reminded me of bad diner food. No joke. My mom and my little brother got the filet sandwich. Ive seen dirty philly food truck cheesesteaks that looked more appetizing than that filet sandwich. The meat was WAY overcooked and it was extremely chewy. The fries tasted like they came out of a bag. I got the shrimp salad (Im watching my girlish figure). It came with 4 shrimp on it....4.....The walnuts were also salted which I found odd....So the salty walnuts, with the salty cheese crumbles was over bearing. The salad itself was big but then only having 4 shrimp on it? Still blows my mind. And as far as interior goes Im just gonna go ahead and assume that it looked like a bare prison cell because you are closing tomorrow. Honestly it makes me sad to see places that arent franchised close. But something that helps places like this compete with the franchises is food and ambiance. People pay a lot for both. The food here needs to be kicked up some MAJOR notches. I hope your other place stays in business."
