"We love Momos and eat here all the time but last night was probably the last time we will be ordering from here. I placed an online order for two items burger sliders and a chicken wrap for 6:15 pick up. I arrive around 6:30 and was only handed one item. I told the bartender that I ordered two things. I showed her the receipt and order on my phone. She apologized and said their ticket system only printed one order and they will make my order now and apologized for the inconvenience. They stated this would only take a few minutes. I understand mistakes happens and I am totally reasonable with these types of accidents but the lack of care is what really rubbed me the wrong way. A couple of minutes turned into 30 minutes of waiting for my food, no one offered me a drink while I waited for the inconvienence or to even comp the item off and give me a refund. I would’ve even taken a free dessert which I know cost the restaurant nothing to give. There was no manager either that came up to me to apologize for the mistake on their end. So as I am waiting 30 minutes for my food to be made I came home with ice cold food for my fiancé because his was the only item that was prepared on time. Again, I am really not one to complain but the lack of attention or care from this restaurant has resulted in a loss of a repeat customer. If the manager would like to contact me to make this right I would really appreciate it."

"Have eaten in the restaurant and gotten takeout from here for over 15 years but never again. My kids are home from college for a long weekend and before they head back we decided to go to Lombardi 's for a family dinner. After apps we ordered dinner. I chose from the daily specials menu the stuffed veal chop. The waiter asked Salad or pasta which that? I chose pasta. What type of pasta and what kind of sauce? I replied rigatoni and vodka. The meal came. It was fine. A little fatty and too much cheese but besides that it was good. When the check came I noticed that the veal was billed at $56. I could have sworn that it was priced $40 something on the menu. I went to double check and sure enough it was listed on the menu at $43. I asked the waiter why I was charged an additional $13 over menu price and he apologized and went to look for the manager. He returned 15 minutes later and handed me the corrected bill. The veal was now only overpriced at $49 this time. I asked to speak to the manager and the waiter asked me to find him at the bar (why the customer goes to the manager and not vice versa is beyond me). I found the manager sitting at the bar eating and watching tv and asked why the corrected bill was still $6 over the menu price. He explained that the menu was wrong and should have said $49. He went on to explain how he hooked me up by not charging me more for upgrading from tomato sauce to vodka sauce. Something that would normally incur a $7 surcharge. He then told me that he would have to instruct the waiter on informing customers that pasta sides don 't get a choice. Charged $13 over menu price. Corrected to only $6 over menu price. Had to go to the manager at the bar to be informed how this was actually taking care of me. Waiter was a nice guy, not his fault. Still got a19% tip. Waiter was great, food wasn 't bad but I 'm done with this place based solely on the managers scam, laziness and attitude."

"Despite living nearby in the 1990s, this was my first visit to the Holbrook Diner on July 21, 2023. The diner boasts a unique blend of retro and modern décor, featuring neon purple ceiling lights and chandeliers that complement the faux wooden flooring and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Main Street in Holbrook. From the moment we were seated, the service was outstanding. Our waiter was skilled and attentive without being rushed. The central location of the server hub and counter likely contributed to this efficient service. Although the menu presented an extensive array of choices, I quickly decided on the eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti. This dish has been my summer vacation staple in Long Island, as reflected in my previous reviews. Priced at $21.95, it also came with a choice of soup or salad, and I opted for the Manhattan Clam Chowder. I’ve consistently found that diners serve exceptional Manhattan Clam Chowder, and the Holbrook Diner was no exception. Before my entrée arrived, I enjoyed a house salad with honey mustard dressing, courtesy of my brother. When my eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti finally came, I was thoroughly pleased with both the portion size and flavor. While some might argue that this dish would be better at an Italian restaurant like Mama Lombardi's across the street, I believe that’s an unfair comparison. My brother wasn't in the mood for Italian, my dad had other preferences, and I craved Italian food, which is why we chose the diverse menu at the Holbrook Diner. The meal was substantial enough to easily offer a second helping. I paired the food with a couple of Cokes, and our waiter was quick to keep my glass filled. As a fan of reputable Long Island diners, I can confidently say that the Holbrook Diner ranks among the best."

"Let me start with this; I enjoyed my meal, and parts of my family's meal. The food was solid and the beer was cold. That being said, we were seated at a table just on the edge if the bar area. Beyond there being a couple ridiculously loud patrons yelling and singing at a group of girls they knew across the bar (that no one stopped them from doing despite obviously glares from other patrons), there was not an overly loud or disturbing volume level in this area. The management and waitresses were kind and checked on us. The bartender was unfortunately a bit awkward for handing a family order. I trusted that he would have written down our order but it was clear that his memory didn't serve him as well as he believed when he messed up 3 out of the 5 orders we placed. 4 of us got the Brook Platter, one of us got the haddock. Fish came out good, platter not so much. The meat was NOT as much as stated on the menu. They claimed a HALF POUND of EACH boneless tenders and steak tips. It was maybe close to a half pound together. On top of that, they could not cook any of the meat to the ordered temperature, and they were tiny steak tip bites. Onion rings were average as was the slaw. Fries were soggy. One order came out with rice that no one ordered, another with honey hot sauce that was supposed to be Honey BBQ sauce. The dry rub for the chicken tasted like a powder seasoning rather than a read dry rub, would recommend the sauce instead. One was supposed to be very well and came out medium. The steak was cooked all across the board, as I said no consistency. Even after manager came over to apologize to our complaint, the additional 3 steak tips he brought over were still not well, they were medium. Very well does not mean just char the outside and leave the inside pink. Last I was here I had a better experience than this time. Fortunately the manager did seem to come by and check on our status so we do appreciate that. We will probably try again in the future to see if it gets better but definitely will not be sitting in the bar area again."
