"Since it was a holiday, there were no lunch specials available that day, but we were in the mood for sashimi, which is usually not included in the all-you-can-eat lunch menus. We started with a kani salad and a seaweed salad, which I thought would be nice to mix together. No complaints here. Normally, we avoid cooked dishes at these kinds of restaurants, but we decided to give the shrimp tempura and chicken wings a shot. The shrimp tempura was decent—just standard fare like you might find in a Costco freezer. The chicken wings were a bit dry, but at least they were crispy, which my husband enjoyed. Next was the soup, which was quite ordinary. Moving on to the main course, the sashimi came in standard pieces that were cut in half, but I didn’t mind; I actually preferred the smaller portions. You can order as much extra as you want, which is a nice perk. The tuna was slightly too pink for my taste, but it tasted good, so I was grateful for that. The salmon and white fish were also enjoyable. They even had spicy salmon and tuna sashimi, which piqued my interest. It was served on cucumber slices topped with some spicy fish, which I found innovative—it allowed me to enjoy spicy fish without the added carbs. For rolls, we chose the soft-shell crab tempura and the New York Roll (which includes tuna, salmon, yellowtail, jalapeño, and tobiko with wasabi mayo), along with a couple of other rolls that I can’t quite remember. Honestly, all the specialty rolls at sushi restaurants tend to taste similar, but I don’t mind knowing what to expect when I visit. As a habit, I always order soup before dessert to complete my meal (what can I say, I’m Asian!). I opted for the tom yum soup, but I’d recommend avoiding that—it had an off-putting smell. On a positive note, they serve fried Oreos for dessert! I’m not a huge fan, but it’s nice to see it on the menu, especially since many places don’t offer it. The ice cream options included green tea, red bean, vanilla, and chocolate. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would definitely consider coming back. I appreciate the little details they incorporate to set themselves apart."
