I always enjoy my time at the 49th. Great food great service great atmosphere definitely one of my favorite places in Anchorage have dinner at 

Made a reservation, seated right away. Sat and waited, no one acknowledged us. We sat. Finally a manager came over took a drunk order. And then a very pleasant server finally arrived. We ordered our meal. The food was nothing outstanding for the price. We had ordered bison and elk meals. We were celebrating a birthday and it was just not that exciting a culinary experience. Too slow to be acknowledged and food was not anything that stood out.

What I like about this place is that they have gluten free options and they are flagged on the menu. The vegan burger is surprisingly delicious. This visit I had the street corn appetizer and it was really tasty as well. The pizza is okay best to stick to the classics like pepperoni. If it has unusual ingredients like fireweed jelly it really strays from tasting anything like pizza. Good beer and wine selection. And of course, the rooftop in the summer cannot be beat. I'll be honest, I did not expect this place to knock my socks off the way it did! Obviously the beers are solid, but their whisky and scotch menu is unbelievable! Their food was also super solid. We started with the tuna nachos and lager loaf. The nachos were perfectly assembled and the spent grain loaf was delicious. We also had the garden salad and seafood chowder, which had huge chunks of fresh seafood. We finally finished with the fish and chips which were perfectly breaded and fried. Everything was wonderful, including the amazing view and our phenomenal waitress.

I had requested for outdoor seating when I made the reservation. The hostess brought us to our indoor table. I mentioned to her about the outdoor seating, she said your reservations was for indoor. We sat down for a couple minutes and verified my reservations. I went back to the hostess to ask about the seating. A manager was called and gave us seating on the balcony. The food was good. The bf said the pretzel had too much salt for his liking. We also ordered crab artichoke dip as an appetizer. We had the poke tuna bowl and halibut tacos for entree. The cocktails were great. He ordered a few dark beers that were also great.

Plenty of take-out beer options and outdoor seating. Really liked the bittersweet chocolate porter I tried. Waits can be long for a table, but we've consistently enjoyed their pizza and they hosted a great German-style Christmas market in December that closely approximated those in Europe. They also have great periodic specials, like a pizza-party pack that came with a mini growler of beer for only more than a large pizza alone (price in early When you sign up for their birthday club, you get a coupon that, in July was good for off a meal for which alcohol was eligible. They also seem to treat their staff well; an off-duty waitress I meet said she liked it far better than other employers in... Voir le carte
