Bar and Board - Carte

I was pleasantly surprised at Bar Board Bistro. The food was delicious and the pricing serving sizes were great. The ginger poached shrimp was probably my favorite thing I had. Will be back if ever in Newport again.

Yummy, delicious date night. Brussel sprout appetizer was amazing! Jose was a great server. The food was out quick too! Vegetarian options: There were some Parking: We drove around for a while looking for a spot to park. Wheelchair accessibility: Bathrooms were up two flights of stairs. My boyfriend and I were disappointed with the food here. We ordered mussels, octopus, tuna poke, and brussel sprouts. Everything was fine, but not great and it felt like we could've made it at home. The service was also just fine. The vibe is cool and our cocktails were very good, but otherwise it's very average. Probably wouldn't come back.

Outdoor seating with dim lighting set a beautiful mood. Small plates of Shrimp Avocado with sushi rice, soy, mirin, sriracha, cucumber, ginger poached shrimp, pickled fresno Tempura Cauliflower Corn jalapeño cakes... Mildly spicy yet a sweet taste given the agave jalapeño aioli, delicious dish which was well prepared Nf fillling in its own right Daiquiri...passion fruit foam, rum, acid water sugar.. Do I need to say more?! After this drink I gave up sugar so I didn't develop Diabetes. But have to admit the drink was good at the time. Voir le carte

The bar was busy real early so maybe the food is good too?? This place did not blow me away. Service was good. Food presentation great but taste? Our food was just ok. Calamari a little over cooked, flavorless salads seemingly with no dressing, maybe three shrimp in the civeche. Sprouts were awesome though!! And there was Coke products! Dessert was gross, a weird square of tasteless batter with some fruit in it. I guess they're known for charcuterie but I'm not paying fifty to sixty bucks for someone to cut cheese into cubes. Oh well.

I have been wanting to eat here since last summer. As a local to Newport-Middletown, I won't wait in line. Finally saw my chance with my cousins coming to town and we were able to get a reservation. It was Newport restaurant week and nothing was special. If you spent $100$ you got a gift certificate. Could have had better participation. The menu looked creative but upon execution was okay. My cousin liked the vegan bolognese and we had a nice charcuterie. When it came to the main course the vegetarian choices were small. Who wants to have salad as a main course because of limited choices. Some dishes could be modified but that was about it. Taste was good but not outstanding. My cousins wife...

This restaurant was pretty disappointing for all the good reviews. We were seated on the patio, in clear view of the host stand, but no one came over to our table to greet us or get drink orders or even pour some water. After over 20 minutes of being ignored by the staff, I asked the host if they forgot about us. He was very apologetic that yes they did. Ok, that happens, and I was willing to move past it. But then it took 10 more minutes for a server to come over. While she was nice, she didn’t acknowledge that we had now been sitting there for 30 minutes without any service or apologize.
