"I have heard good things about this place so I went in with high hopes......... Boy was I disappointed. I ordered the shrimp platter with hush puppies and a twice baked potato the wife ordered a chicken sandwich and fries. After waiting a full hour for our food to arrive. The shrimp were tough, overdone, and flavorless. The twice baked potato was DRYYYY. I never received my hush puppies although I asked about them 3 times. My wifes chicken sandwich was dry as all could be as well as overdone. The service was terrible I have never had to ask for utensils and napkins after receiving my food. When you eat somewhere with higher prices you usually expect a bit better than McDonalds sad to say I would have been better off going their."

"I don 't remember how many times I went to Anthony 's during my year-long residency in South Carolina, but all I can say is that it 's one of the finer (if not few places to eat at in Barnwell, SC. When I first heard about Anthony 's, the seafood chain restaurant in California first popped up in my head. Pretty fancy restaurant for a small town, right? Not quite the seafood place I was thinking about. The food quality at Anthony 's is decent, but has reminiscent tastes of cafeteria food. During my stay in the South, I had my fair share of sweet tea. Anthony 's consistently offers, perhaps, the sweetest sweet tea there is in all of the South. If you 're not used to the sweet tea, then the first glass of sweet tea will and could cause you to lapse into diabetic coma. As far as food goes, Anthony 's offers a decent selection of hamburgers (chicken and beef , Southern delights (sweet peas, ribs on some occasions, fried ocre, collard greens , and a handful of other items like country fried steak (emphasize fried . They offer ridged potato cuts called home fries and provide a variety of specials that rotate throughout the week. Pricing is kind of strange. With the recent gratuity taxes, and other taxes, the effective tax rate is 9% in the town for all restaurants. High, huh? If you 're ever those neck of the woods (which for most people, is rare...except if you were there covering the Presidential candidate race that weekend , check it out. Expect to drink a pitcher or two of sweet tea before leaving the place."

"This restaurant offers amazing sandwiches, pasta salads, desserts, and a variety of other delicious items. They also have unique food and home remedy products that are difficult to find elsewhere. In addition to their breakfast and lunch hot bars, they also have a salad bar available. Customers can also purchase deli meats and cheeses by the pound. My wife and I enjoy buying these ingredients to make our own subs at home. I highly recommend this restaurant."

"The food was tasty, but the service left much to be desired. I had to get up to request napkins and tea, and the surrounding tables were left uncleared for the entire duration of our visit. There was a half-eaten candy on the windowsill (which my grandson couldn't resist touching) and some crayons stored under the table. Additionally, there were credit card receipts with signatures scattered near the checkout counter. On the positive side, our waitress was very pleasant; she just needs more support. Overall, it’s definitely not what it used to be."
