"A Taste of Iran in Laguna HillsI recently had the pleasure of visiting Sweet Lili's Bakery in Laguna Hills, California, and let me tell you, it was a truly delightful experience. This charming bakery, owned by two Iranian sisters, offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements their exceptional Persian pastries.From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with a genuine smile and a warm welcome by one of the owners. The friendly and accommodating nature of the staff immediately made me feel at home.Sweet Lili's Bakery is a treasure trove for anyone with a sweet tooth. Their Persian pastries are simply outstanding. The flavors are rich and unique, offering a tantalizing blend of traditional Iranian ingredients and techniques. Each bite transported me to a world of exquisite flavors, filled with delicate rosewater, fragrant saffron, and the perfect balance of sweetness.One of my personal favorites was the saffron-infused pistachio baklava. The layers of flaky pastry, combined with the aromatic saffron and the crunch of pistachios, created a heavenly symphony of flavors. It was truly a treat for the senses. I also had the pleasure of trying their delicate almond cookies, which were melt-in-your-mouth delicious.What sets Sweet Lili's Bakery apart, apart from their delectable pastries, is the genuine care and attention that goes into every creation. "I think the name has always kept me away, because I thought it was just a pizzeria. This place offers way more than pizza! The outside, like the name, is very understated. When you walk in, you recognize this place is upscale! The music, the lighting, the ambiance was perfect for a nice dinner (inside temp was warm and needed to be cooler, kind of uncomfortable). The service was very good. Our server, Adrian, made very good recommendations and even comped our dessert because it was our first time there. The menu offers a variety of pizzas, pasta, and protein. I chose the linguine with clams and was not disappointed! The serving size was perfect.... actually, it was so good that I wanted more! I HIGHLY recommend this place. Outdoor seating is also available, where you can enjoy the cool night air."

"When we were seated in the dining room there was an accommodation request that was handled poorly by the waiting staff, and they were clearly speaking without proper knowledge of why the request was made, nonetheless it wasn't able to be accommodated because it would interfere with our neighboring table....that was empty. I really don't like conflict so I didn't pursue any further. I should have left at that point. Food was ordered (fish of the day) and when it was received it had the wrong veggies, and the fish was very bland albeit I did get it hot which was nice. I ate most of the fish while waiting for my correct veggies, and then found out when I told staff the fish was bland (even though no one asked me how it was after I got it) that it wasn't served with the lobster cream sauce for some reason and that it's much better with the sauce....well yeah, that's how it's supposed to be served and because I didn't get it served that way (kitchen error, and poor service after our food came) I still had to pay $45 for a bland meal."

"They have had price increases to their menu and I feel that perhaps they need to add an additional dollar sign to their ratings so diners are prepared. The tacos are unique and always very good. The Ceviche is not of the same freshness it really good when fresh. The service is always slow but as long as you are with good company, it’s worth the waiting. However, this visit the waitress dumped an entire small bottle of alcohol in my husband’s lap and then quietly said a sarcastically sounding “sorry” to him as if it was a common thing for her. I had to ask for a napkin after the spill and she handed him a cocktail napkin as if it would be enough. They gave us 50% off the $22 drink for the spill but probably would have been better to not dump the drink in the first place, I know, accidents happen, but when they do, give a sincere apology and get something to help clean it up! The service is an example of them having a young staff as servers but again, the tacos are really good."

"Expect, disappointed by their lack of customer service. I don't know if I picked up a bad day for the staff there, but I ordered pickup and nobody wanted to confirm our presence. Among other things, we ordered one side of rice and another side of beans. We had no idea that the fee of $5.00 for everyone approx. 8 ounces of rice and 8 ounces of beans. Hardly the price and the total bad attitudes of the waitress who helped me after they waited to approach me... they were less than polite."
