"Fine dining? No. Too loud to talk, yes. Mason jars with beer branding for your water glasses set the mood as very casual and therefore not worth the prices charged. Other tables received bread and dipping oil, but we did not. Waitress had no clue what a house wine is. Bruschetta listed basil, but parsley was on it instead . Balsamic was not listed on the Bruschetta, I would not have ordered it if I 'd known. Balsamic is too sweet for my taste and ruined the flavor. Bruschetta is served cold, not heated to melt mozzarella. The Merlot I was served was acidic, not the worst I 've ever had but far from good. Cesar salad was dry and bland. Adding more dressing showed that the dressing is bland other than being a little too heavy on the lemon. The pizza margarita flavor was slightly bland but at least had plenty of basil. The crust was very dense for how thin it was. Lasagna sauce was very sweet. For an unenjoyable meal for two, $90 is NOT reasonable. Only tried one bite of the lasagna, and the waitress just tossed her hands in the air in response to why it wasn 't removed from the bill. The boss stated that that 's just the way our sauce is and still refused to remove it from the bill. From someone who lived in Italy for 3 years and went back for an extended trip years later, this is not authentic Italian. It 's not inedible, just very Americanized."

"server was excellent until they felt compelled to comment on my mask clothing and how useless it is. I have come to eat good food, not to have anyone serving me their political ideology. they tried to tell me how they had covid, and it wasn't that bad. I am happy for them that they had a mild experience but I am a mental health therapist whose customers have experienced a series of experiences, from serious personal illness to the dead of their loved ones and more. when I made it clear that I was not interested in continuing the talk, they went to a tangent about the united states that promote the war to support their great production and export of weapons. for these reasons I will not return to soleas."

"Don't get the Friday fish fry! I saw another reviewer say this place has the worst service in Menasha and I couldn't have put it better myself. I completely stopped going here two years ago after they forgot an item from my food order and made no effort to rectify the issue. My options were to drive 10 minutes back there or go without. I went without. Today in a moment of weakness I tried the Friday fish fry again. I know I should have checked my order before I left but I have never been to a restaurant as incompetent as this one. So imagine my surprise when once again they forgot an item from my order (that I paid for), made no effort to make it right, required me to drive 10 minutes due to their error and by the time I actually got to eat the nastiness they call a fish fry it was cold. At this point I think they're purposefully leaving items out of orders to save money. Based on other reviews, I will eagerly await the owner's response explaining how it's my fault that The Old Grog is utterly incapable of hiring competent employees."

"If I had to describe this place with one word it would be wow I can only speak to the food and the service as I stopped for lunch during work and couldn 't sample the beer. However the atmosphere and vibe is awesome. The staff all work together so you don 't have just one person helping you. They all work so well together and by doing that no matter how busy it is you feel very well taken care of. The food is spot on! I had the jerk chicken sandwich but as a wrap and it was full of flavor. You can tell they care about what they are cooking and you can tell it 's fresh. The other cool part is every sandwich or meal comes with whatever side you want. Cheese curds, onion rings, sweet potato fries etc it 's all included with your meal. The only thing I could say to improve is the size of the building, it 's not a huge space and fills up very quickly. Otherwise it 's a great place, definitely check it out!"
