Historic place of Trieste. Not to be missed. Suggestive tables in the middle of the library. Make yourself suggest what to choose between the 60 ways of serving coffee. Do not miss the head in b, ground coffee in a small glass. It is only in Trieste.

Beautiful interior. The coffee and tea are excellent. They have a wide range of loose leaf tea. They also have lots of cocktails. The quality of these depend on whose making them Cakes are nice. Sandwiches are awful avoid. But try some cakes. Most are great

One of Europe's most important literary cafés where James Joyce would discuss radical new ideas among many others... A piece of living history and culture. Perfect cappuccino and I recommend reading in the house historical book of the café, which spans over 100 years.

Great atmosphere .Of the four oldest cafes in Trieste this was the best . It was a pleasant surprise to have several gluten free options . The Bone marrow and the tripe dishes were exceptional. from 1914, the meeting point of intellectuals and artists, has kept its charm unchanged. for me remains the most fascinating of Trieste. Splendid coffee in Viennese secession style, embellished by the wonderful paintings of vito timmel, today also houses a library. still remains a true literary coffee even if -to full merit - it is thrown by us tourists. service in the norm.

Loved this place. It’s been around since 1904. It’s a bookstore, cafe, and bar with baked goods for breakfast and lunch in the afternoon. Do not leave Trieste without visiting this amazing cafe. Also appreciate the capable servers who called me a taxi when there seemed to be no taxis to be found. They really went out of their way and I so appreciate it. This is one of my favorite coffee places in all of Italy and I’ll be back. The espresso was perfection.

In Trieste is full of beautiful historical cafes. We decided to sit back and drink a coffee in this delicious place. The interiors are really elegant and tell you the story. Coffee is also a library and you can buy books or even just see the place. Prices are high (in line with premises of this type) and service a little slow.
