"I used to come here often but they are too expensive now. Came here on 5/25 for table service and ordered a beef noodle soup. The waitress was an Indian lady instead of the normal Asian lady owner. The Indian lady printed me a receipt with a surprise mandatory 20% !!! tip on it. The tip was not optional. Normally, I will give about 15% tip with cash and 18% tip with credit card but maybe more depending on how I feel. I paid cash thinking I would get a discount but she said it was same price credit and cash. 20% tip is outrageous. Why would I pay cash if there is no discount? There is no benefit. With a credit card, I get the convenience of not needing to carry cash and I get points. In total, $18.18 for a single beef noodle soup all in including the mandatory 20% tip. Probably won't eat table service here again. They should have been upfront about the mandatory 20% tip. I think they are legally supposed to tell customers if they charge a mandatory tip. If there are hidden fees in the takeout, then I would rather just get takeout from a regular cash only Chinese takeout place. Didn't feel like arguing because the owner wasn't there. The quality of the food here is better than a regular Chinese takeout place. It has a more authentic taste and menu."

You absolutely have to try the Wonton in Chili Oil! If you love spicy food, this place is a must-visit! I highly recommend it! Food rating: 5/5.

Dined in for dinner on a Tuesday. Restaurant was fairly empty and most customers were there to take-out. Good food and clean restaurant. Attentive servers. However, prices are considerably higher than competing restaurants. Parking lot in back is convenient. Voir le carte

A authentic szechuan chinese restaurant in a world where general tsos and orange chicken are the usual go to staple, am i in the right place? Did they open in the right location? Either way i was pleasantly surprised driving out to this neck of the woods and seeing something as authentic as cheng du chinese cusine, i can only hope this tend continues. Judging by the reviews here it seems like the locals feel the same way about this restaurant.

The restaurant has ample space, making it suitable for large groups, and there is plenty of parking available behind the building, which I really appreciate. In terms of authenticity, I believe ChengDu holds its own against other Chinese restaurants, so you won’t need to venture to Queens or Chinatown. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and thoroughly enjoyed our meal at ChengDu in Franklin Square, NY. However, I would suggest they tone down the upselling, as it can negatively impact the dining experience. I look forward to returning and trying more of their dishes.

Manager lied that her card system was not working to get cash, then suddenly offered card payment option when our tip for lackluster food was not as large as she had hoped. Admittedly we went for dim sum dishes at a Sichuan restaurant, but it does advertise these as made in house. I'm fairly sure they were, but they were pretty bad, as well. Best dish was from the normal menu. All were obscenely overpriced. If having this experience in a restaurant seemingly transported from mainland China circa 2000 while listening to some very nostalgic Taiwanese pop (my favorite part) sounds good to you, go ahead. The soundtrack may also include a manager yelling at her staff. A lot. Voir le carte

I used to love this place and frequent often. I noticed the deterioration of the restaurant over the past couple visits but my last visit will be just that, my last. Service was horrible, and though the food is usually good I was incredibly disappointed when my favorite dish came served over chopped romain instead of the normal peppers and greens. When I asked my server about it she made it out like I was stupid and had no clue what I was talking about.... Yet I have ordered this EXACT dish with 0 modifications probably close to 20 times. Although the ambiance is nice and the restaurant is big- given the incredibly obvious decline is service I will not be returning. This place has so much po...

I have gone to this restaurant twice.First time: great food and the waitress who was Indian was lovely 5/5. Gave a good tip too.Second time: horrible service. Horrible. I went for lunch and got a Asian waitress. She asked me what I wanted to drink. I said Diet Coke. She’s like I have Diet Pepsi. I said no thank you. And then she said okay okay I have Diet Coke. I will get it. When she brings my soup out next half of the soup is on the plate she brings it out in. It’s like she was in a rush to get things done, which I would have understood if the restaurant was packed. I was the only customer. Then she brings out my food, i had to ask Atleast 4 times for then sauces: hot sauce, soy sauce and...

"'FRESHER IS ALWAYS BETTER! Prince Umberto Pizzeria Restaurant 721 Franklin Ave, Franklin Square, NY 11010 Today 10/26/2023, I took my Honey for lunch for the first time to Prince Umberto 's in Franklin Square, NY. We both love good home made Italian food. I read some nice reviews, checked out their menu online and saw items we both like to eat, so to not far away Franklin Square we went! It was about 2;30 pm when we got there, the pizzeria side was busy but the dinning area side was wasn 't busy at all, and that 's exactly where we wanted to go. Our waiter and server Johnathan greeted us and sat us at a nice comfortable table. I ordered something for my Honey and I to drink, nothing with alcohol, while we looked over the menu. I told Johnathan we were going to first try a few appetizers, and after that, if we were still hungry we would order something else. I asked Johnathan, please, DO NOT bring us all the food at once, as so many other restaurants seem to want to do! All that food at once just overwhelms you, plus sitting there, the food just gets cold before you get to eat it. Johnathan said, not a problem, tell me what to bring you, and I will bring it when you tell me, YES! We started off first with Littleneck Clams on the half shell, then we had whole backed clams that were just made, nice and piping hot, and so, so, delicious. Next we enjoyed a nice size pot of mussels cooked with white wine and garlic, Johnathan brought us their just baked HOT pizza dough bread with butter on the side, it was excellent especially when we were dunking the bread into the mussel juice! After that my Honey and I had to try their Trippa Napoletana, we both love tripe! This tripe with the sauce made at Prince Umbertos was so good, my Honey had to take some home! It had no potatoes, no peas, just tender cooked tripe in a delicious mild sauce, which I was also enjoying on the hot pizza dough bread too. Just delicious. Wow! While were eating, the owner, and the chef came over to us a couple of times to ask if everything was okay and to our liking, and if we needed anything else, which was very nice of them to do. We now were both pretty full, but I had to check out their dessert menu first, before we left. I spotted their Italian ice cream Tartufo, and my Honey spotted the Tiramisu. We suddenly found a little space to tackle dessert, OMG! They both were so yummy! Now as far as prices go in this day and age of high prices, this restaurant has very, very, fair prices for quality fresh food! And I might add, this is one of the very few restaurants that is not charging any extra fee for using your credit card, I hope they can continue doing that, we shall see? We shall return for sure. Their food was so good, and freshly cooked to order, just as if we were home, it was a delight to go to Prince Umberto 's in Franklin Square today! Johnathan did an excellent job taking good care of us. And if I am going write an honest review, which I am, I have one wish, we both love clams on the half shell, ice cold. The clams on the half shell we had today were really fresh, but they were room temperature and not cold at all? I wish they can serve them ice cold, the next time we come. All in all, Prince Umberto 's still gets 5 stars! One tip for all, go for lunch or early dinner, You will have plenty of space in their dining room!"
