Jackie is the best server ever! she is friendly, attentive and caring. We love the food at Claire's. We have had breakfast and lunch. My favs are the flatbreads and the acai bowl. My partner favs are chicken salad sandwich on rosemary sourdough, and the Grilled Cheese breakfast sandwich. The hash browns are the best, yummy!!!!

"Best dinner of the year! AND we eat out every night, so saying this was the best dinner this year... that's saying something. Came here last night for a date night. We have been a few times previously. My wife wanted the surf and turf for two. So, that's what we ordered. At $60 it seemed like a bargain. It featured ribeye steak, crab cake, cauliflower, green beans, rainbow carrots and garlic mashed potatoes. It was served with sides of remoulade, bearnaise and demiglaze. First off nothing was pedestrian about this plate of food. I have no idea what kind of green beans they were. They were long, flat and wide. Kind of like a Lima beans in its shell, but tender and sweet. There was cauliflower that had bright white tops but green stems. Never seen that before. Carrots were rainbow colors. The steak was seasoned perfectly, maybe had even been brined. Tender to the point I didn't need a knife. The star of the show was the demiglaze. Literally the best I have ever had. So good that I asked the chef if he made it himself. I was disappointed to find out the answer was yes. I was hoping it was something that I could procure from some specialty shop. But no. Only a chef with extreme pride in the craft would go to all the effort to make a demiglaze like that. That same pride echoed throughout the plate. The mashed potatoes as included. Not too rich or fat laddened, yet full of flavor and a perfect accompaniment to the veggies and the steak. We ended up having an apple crisp for dessert. It came straight from the oven with a big scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. It gilded the lily. Everything was amazing. And, I got a small amount of demiglaze to go. In the end, I found the specialty shop I was looking for. ?"

"My friends and I had a fantastic dinner at Jake's. We enjoyed both the Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, which were excellent. The calamari was a standout dish and the sauce was amazing. The sea bass was light and flavorful, while the surf and turf was cooked perfectly. The short ribs at Jake's are a must-try, they are tender and unforgettable. We ended our meal with a chocolate peanut butter torte, which was delicious and perfect for sharing. The view was stunning and Trey provided excellent service. We can't wait to return!"

"Kai’s is a great “local’s” restaurant with friendly service, quality food, an an exceptional view of the beach. The ambiance is unpretentious and tidy. The servers and management are friendly and attentive. This restaurant has a low key vibe. The wine list could be upgraded. While there are many favorite dishes that we keep coming back to, it would be nice to see a fresh look at options. But this comes from our point of view inclusive of 23 years of visits. There are plenty of diverse options for newcomers. On nights with musical entertainment, it doesn’t overwhelm the restaurant. The main room noise level is definitely not for conversation when the band plays, but both patio areas provide space to hear the music but still be able to chat. During this visit we heard the Benedetti Trio play. They partnered with the dining experience perfectly."

"Restaurant was recommended to us as one of best in San Diego area. It truly was. We sat outside on cooler night but the heater kept it so comfortable. Food selection was wonderful, we split the seafood platter with sides and it was substantial. Everything was so tasty and unique. John was our waiter and is one of the best ever. Friendly, good suggestions, made us feel so welcome. Highly recommend this restaurant."

"Our drinks stayed empty. When the food was delivered, the steak my husband ordered was cold along with everything else on his plate. The server never came back to check with us on how the meal was so we never had a chance to let him know. Came back with the check much later. Bummer, this place used to be amazing. Guessing they're understaffed?"
