"Heavy Smoke at St. Peters, MO, is the type of BBQ someone dreams about. They go out and do competitions and have won hundreds of awards. That means nothing if they don't have the core to a restaurant: good, clean, fast, fun, friendly service. A request andsomeone is quick to assist which they excel at every level. The owner/manager himself even came out to talk about his pridedish a pork cake that is to die for! Coming from Maryland, we chatted about how we're used to crab cakes and never saw a porkcake before. He said he loves crab cakes, but he found a way to make a dish happen with fresh local pork. Additionally, theymake their own rubs and bbq sauces which are especially tasty. A stand out for me was the pineapple the sweet and the heatbalanced quite wel. My friend found the combo I never tried the spicy blueberry to be notable. If you enjoy food,especially BBQ, do yourself and your friends and family a solid and try it out. I wish I was closer so I wouldn't have to waittill I can have more of the menu. Food tried: burnt ends, ribs, brisket, jalapeno cheddar sausage pork cakes, mac n cheese,baked potato casserole, creamy cole slaw and the loaded potato salad. Me and my companion both ordered and split dishes and wehad plenty to take home for a second meal."
