"When we opened our dinner at home, we noticed there were two small cups: one contained the lobster stew, while the other was a mystery. We didn’t receive the salad dressing we ordered, nor an extra side of dressing or tartar sauce for the fried fish, which we expected would be included. The mysterious cup contained warm Gorgonzola chunks with dressing that had a strange layer of either butter or oil on top. It was unpleasant and tasted terrible. The lobster stew was essentially chunks of lobster floating in that same hot butter/oil mixture. For nearly $70 for two people, the quality presented was unacceptable and rushed. Given our long history of dining at Fogarty’s, my fiancé decided to call and express our concerns. The manager who answered the phone was not very apologetic, making only a cursory acknowledgment of our experience, and offered a gift card as compensation. In the end, we threw everything away. A week later, we received the gift card – for just $5. Seriously? This was frankly insulting. Having worked in the restaurant industry for over 15 years, I am baffled. I understand there may be staffing shortages and busy Saturday nights, but I could never discard a loyal customer so easily."

"Hello, unfortunately I visited the South Berwick location today and experienced extremely disrespectful behavior from your employees. One woman outright refused to take or make orders, and declined to fulfill our large online order, claiming it was too big. They harassed one of my employees when she went to pick up the order and offered no assistance. I attempted to call the store several times while my employee was there, but she reported hearing the phone ring with no answer. Our order was placed at 11:46 this morning, it is now 12:36pm and we still have not received anything. I would like to mention that the online order was marked as ready before we arrived to pick it up. The way your employees treated not only my staff, but other customers in the restaurant was completely unacceptable, and the woman who refused to take or make any orders should be dismissed. Unfortunately, this will be our company's final time ordering lunch from this establishment."

"We had an excellent experience at this restaurant! Contrary to another review I read, we found both the service and food to be exceptional. Even though it was a busy Saturday night, we were seated immediately, and our meals arrived shortly after we ordered. I had the veal Parmesan, which was thinly sliced and served in a generous portion, and the pasta and sauce were delightful. The grilled shellfish was also cooked to perfection. Our waitress was friendly and efficient, adding to our overall enjoyment. The prices were quite reasonable, perhaps even lower than what you’d find at chain restaurants. We will definitely be returning soon!"

"I am evaluating this establishment as a restaurant rather than as an event space. The food was tasty and provided a diverse selection that appeals to a wide array of guests. I was part of a large group, and the prices were quite reasonable. The setting and views are stunning, which likely contributes to its popularity for weddings. However, the kitchen and the limited waitstaff appeared to struggle during peak times. After speaking with other diners, all of whom enjoyed their meals, I've decided to increase my rating. Just a warning for anyone who might be impatient!"

"I have to say the only 2 times I was there, it was horrible. First, I ordered a pizza to go, granted they were busy, but when I got it home, it was burnt. Literally, the cheese was hard and black bubbles. It took so long I never ordered a replacement. Inedible. The second time I went in for happy hour and got a margarita for my birthday. The bartender put the total of the bill as a tip, charging me double, I had given her 20%. When I noticed it on my credit statement, the manager (who after 1/2 hr someone finally picked up the phone) said she couldn’t do anything about it and the owner had the next 5 days off. He called after that, leaving a message for a partial refund. Not even the amount I authorized, so I’m still trying to get ahold of him. Obviously they’re short staffed and incompetent all the way around. Shocked at all the 4.25 stars…."
