I absolutely adore this deli! Every time I'm in the Fairfield area, I always stop by for a sandwich, and it never disappoints!

This restaurant serves the best sandwiches east of the Mississippi. The staff is exceptionally friendly and strives to ensure you have a great experience. The charming decor enhances the overall atmosphere. I highly recommend checking out this place!

The sandwiches are decent now, but they were truly fantastic in the past. I've been a loyal customer since the 1990s, and this restaurant used to be a staple in Fairfield. It still sees a good crowd at lunchtime, but as of now, it just doesn't have the same charm.

Great sandwiches and salad bar are their staple. Over the years they have fine tuned their interior and even exterior patio area to make it more accommodating to a large amount of people. The egg and cheese dish wasn't as tasty as I remembered; it used to be much better. The restaurant seems to be understaffed and quite disorganized. It took 25 minutes to get my order of just two items. Ordering here can be a bit difficult due to an ineffective system. On the bright side, the food is excellent. They just need to hire more staff to enhance the overall experience.

The next day, when I wasn't working, one of my fellow stylists mentioned that someone from the deli had left a gift card for me! When I came to work today, I discovered a $20 gift card along with a thoughtful note from Christine apologizing once again. It was truly impressive that they went out of their way to deliver the gift card to my job. I wish every establishment provided such outstanding customer service! I'm not even upset about the wrap being incorrect because mistakes happen, and the way Christine handled the situation—going the extra mile to ensure my happiness—is something that most places wouldn't do. All I can say is amazing, amazing, amazing!

This weekend, I'm moving out of Fairfield, and I can honestly say that I will miss Firehouse Deli the most (and I plan to visit as often as possible). The food is incredible, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the service is fast, even during these challenging times with Covid. And let’s not forget the pickles! I've also heard fantastic things about the salads (at least, that’s what my mother-in-law says). I have two favorite dishes that I probably shouldn’t order every single time, but as they say—eat what you love. For breakfast, it's Alex’s Breakfast Panini, and for lunch, it’s the Harlem Shuffle.
