It may be fine for breakfast or a soup/sandwich during the day, but charging $40-60 for dinner entrees and serving cafeteria-style food is unacceptable. The service was just as disappointing. Our server only took our order and brought us the bill; we never saw her otherwise, with a busboy delivering our food. When we complained about the poor quality of the food, the manager brushed it off, saying it tasted fine to him. If you're looking to spend more than $50 on an entree, there are definitely better options out there."

Great food and service with beautiful view in historic Kailua-Kona. Food is excellent and the fish is always done to perfection. Book ahead if you want a window seat but planning ahead is worth it!

We used to love the Fish Hopper. It has really gone downhill. Host staff is not pleasant and should learn some customer service. We were rushed through dinner even though the restaurant was almost empty at 6pm. Food has tanked as well. I paid $12.95 for a starter Cesar salad that was romaine core, dry croutons and a shake of cheese. You can’t ask for assistance from your wait staff as they disappear as soon as you order never to be seen again until they bring the check. We will not be back.
