"Someone likened Fournos Theophilos to Eataly when describing it to me. Perhaps but on a much smaller scale. Fournos Theophilos is thoughtfully put together, with informal seating and excellent cooked food. My party of four adults and one child met for brunch there. The portions are well-priced. Everyone’s dish arrived perfectly salted, no need for any additional. I had a tomato soup with feta swirl in the middle. (I am sharing a picture here but forgot to take it before stirring the bowl. I also had a mac-n-cheese dish and it arrived with firm pasta. Very tasty. The rest of the adults ordered egg-based dishes and the child went for a cheese pie. We also had one dessert, a bougatsa, which was sweet and creamy and had firm phyllo. Five orders, beverages and coffees plus one dessert all came to a little under $100. Seating is comfortable and tables are well-spaced. You will not be sitting on top of one another. The bathrooms are utilitarian. There is a small Greek market in the center (hence the “Eataly” interpretation from my friend with some excellent selections. Spanakopita (spinach pie looks fresh (you can tell and there are jarred sweets and Greek beverages. I even purchased a tote bag to carry my goodies away. PS: How does Fournos Theophilos differ from GRK? They both offer “fast” Greek food. GRK specializes in grilled food, like souvlaki, and offers the occasional baked dish, like spanakopita. Fournos Theophilos is “home-cooked” and has the market."

Great addition to Midtown. I enjoyed customizing a hearty snack at the yogurt bar, which offered two types of Greek yogurt and a unique array of toppings. The baked goods and warm food also looked extremely satisfying.

Food quality and value were excellent. The mood felt more of a grab and go and less of a sit down service. It was very quiet and clean, but probably too quiet and the lighting and the styling had little ambience. Extremely good food but and great service. Voir le carte

If you're feeling nostalgic for Astoria, this is the perfect spot for you. They offer fantastic Greek cuisine, alongside a coffee shop and a selection of delicious Greek pastries. The friendly staff will make you feel right at home in this spacious location in Midtown. I highly recommend it!

What a charming spot! The downstairs area is perfect for grabbing desserts or coffee that smells incredible. Upstairs, they serve dinner, and our server was incredibly friendly. The food was fantastic! We ordered an appetizer with cheese and a salad that was absolutely delicious. Overall, a great place to dine!

My husband I spent $32 for 2 bowls of lunch. You can choose for each plate 1 main, 2 sides and 1 base. In quantity it's pretty decent. The only thing I didn't like was their containers were so small that they had to put one or two sides over the rest of food but in quality and flavor it's really good! I enjoyed greek food! The food is fantastic! I had lentil rice as my base, along with a Greek salad, black-eyed bean salad, and roasted lamb. The portions are quite large for lunch, so I ended up splitting it over two days. The desserts look incredibly tempting, but I haven't had a chance to try them yet. I do wish they would lower the music a bit in the background, as it makes it difficult to hear the server and for them to hear my order.

This is a great spot near theaters for a lovely low key and affordable meal. During the day, this appears to be a place that caters to a casual lunch crowd with counter service. At night, the upper level is a table service restaurant. You can eat dinner here (shared appetizer, entree, maybe shared dessert) for $25 per person, no problem. In Midtown, that's called a deal. Note that there is no alcohol offered (maybe BYOB worth asking). Service is friendly and professional. We will be back.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
