"This place was super cool if you like history. My head was turning in all directions just looking at all of the history. Every room is amazing and you feel like George Washington is going to come around the corner. We only stopped in for a drink and asnack. We mostly wanted to see the place. We tried the scotch egg and it was probably one of the best I’ve tried. Usually theyare kind of dry but this one was moist, cooked well and had a great flavor. Our server was better than most NY servers we’veexperienced on our trip. She actually talked to us, made good recommendations and returned to see how we were doing. She eventold us they have live music and we should come back. Overall it was a nice experience and I bet it would be a fun place tohangout if I were a local."

I had the best chicken pot pie ever. Creamy and delicious! I also enjoyed the butter nut soup. I had a great time eating a delicious meal!

My husband had the short rib pot pie and I had the chicken pot pie. We both sampled the draft beers. The whole experience was great. Great food, beer, atmosphere and service! Voir le carte

This was my first time and it was Thanksgiving. Appetizers were terrific. Turkey was moist and tender. One of the best turkey meals I've had. Sides were very tasty. Service was excellent.

It's a different experience these days during COVID but we enjoyed sitting outdoors for lunch and they put a heater right beside us. Happy to be back downtown supporting out favorite places during these odd times.

We loved it so much on Saturday, we went back on Sunday as we were heading back out of town. They remembered who we were and we felt special. It was a great experience the first time and an even better experience the time! Voir le carte

Historical lunch stop. Traditional decor, standard lunch fair. Wait staff seemed a little understaffed. Had a lunch reservation, arrived early and they were able to seat us. Bar area has a fireplace with a library feel, well stocked with rare, expensivewhiskey and other liquors. Neat tourist stop.

Actually, I loved everything about was. the story alone is incredible, but I really didn't expect that to eat and the experience to be so fantastic. I had my first Scotch egg that was delicious. we had the fish and chips (fries) and a rustic spicy chorizo sandwich. we also tried the truffle parmesan fries that were excellent. they had a live jazz quartet that sounded amazing and, quite open, jazz is not my favorite. we went to Alexander hamilton because of the connection, but I would eat alone and return the atmosphere!

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
