"I have reserved for my chef much in advance and laid the details on his calendar. on the morning of lunch I called before to confirm it and give them his name. ten minutes after the reservation I started an email asking if the group was still planned to show up (because they were late. So I called the restaurant and the host had no idea whether they were there or not because they showed the reservation as open without anyone checking in. the worst is that when I joined my chef on the afternoon, he said when they arrived (at the moment the restaurant checked the reservations and said they had no. thank you for having a table. that was an important business. everything and everything, as an administrative person, it looks like I either don't do my work or do a bad job. last time I use opentable. I'll call the restaurant for the next time. I owe opentable completely."

"Let me start by stating that I don’t do online reviews, I’m way to lazy. But after my last experience here, I felt absolutely compelled to make sure this place got the recognition it deserves. My girlfriend and I have gone there twice in the past week. Our first time there, we had such a pleasant time. The food was fantastic! We had gotten the braised beef soup, pork soup dumplings, tofu puff and glass noodle soup, then the pork and veggie steam buns. At first I was apprehensive about the cost, roughly 10-14 per dish. But after we got our food, my worries diminished. Everything was absolutely delicious! The braised beef soup was the definition of “to die for”. Enough so that it brought us back again at the end of the week! This time was not as good, it was phenomenally better!!! My girlfriend and I both got the braised beef soup this time, after last time being so incredible. We were not disappointed! It was heavenly! Though the food was the reason we came back, our server is the inspiration for this review(not to belittle the other employees . Our servers name was Jun. Within moments of being seated, he arrived with a smile on his face and took our drink order. After returning with our drinks, he helped us make our minds up on what side to order. This time, in tandem with the two braised beef soups, we got the pork chop fried rice(w/ white rice). The pork chop fried rice was ridiculously good. We could not get over how delicious the pork chop was! Then he made some small talk and made us feel more immersed in our dinning experience. We were enjoying not only the food, but the environment almost as much. He wasn’t overly talkative, but just the right amount to make our experience feel important, and unique. Nearing the end of our second trip there, we found ourselves not just talking about how outrageously good our food was, but how friendly and attentive our server was. From the fast meet and greet, to the way he always made sure our drinks were full, without us asking. Which seems like an easy task, but in combination with the huge amount of customers,and my ability to consume copious amounts of beverages(almost to an embarrassing extent), it’s often a servers nightmare. If there’s anything that can ruin an experience, it’s constantly having to wait for a drink refill(which for me seems to always be a problem), but not once was I left with that frustration. At the end of it all, it left us with such a strong positive impression, that we feel that Din Tai Fung will easily be one of our regular go to destinations for amazing food, and exceptional customer service. Thank you so much Jun for the incredible experience, you truly made our night memorable! We will be returning soon!!!"

"nice setting and good service, but I was very disappointed at the food I ordered. cheese appetizer had 4 very thin slices of a kind of cheese that was just okay. the companion-condiment was delicious, but instead of nuts crostini, how advertised there were rounds of hard, bland, stale-tasting white brot, that seemed from the rolls that they bring to each table (which were not very good to begin). the disappointing was disappointing. the gutter was hard, crispy and tasteless. I could not chew through them and after a few bites left the labor and left the rest uneaten. the small amount of colour and sunshake with which it came were decent. my friend ordered this healed and said it was pretty good. Maybe it was a night, but to spend $150 on this experience was really frustrating."

"The reviews were about as accurate as a horoscope. Waiting for a table felt like waiting for a comet to pass by. Their customer service skills were as rare as a unicorn sighting. To top it off, they sat us right next to the bathroom, serving food that was more disappointing than a magic trick gone wrong. The greasy dishes looked like modern art on misplaced plates. Over priced food If you have the option, steer clear of this place. It's not just rundown, it's practically a crime scene. Lock up your valuables, stash everything in the trunk, and park in the right spot unless you want your car to take an unexpected trip on a tow truck joyride."

"Quiet dinner w my daughter before an evening flight from nearby SeaTac. Entire staff was very friendly and checked in on us routinely. Bread brought to our table seconds after we were seated; would have been nicer to wait mins and have it warm. When I asked for a small sample of a wine to determine if I wanted to order a glass, our server brought out wines to taste so I’d have a comparison, which I appreciated. Both our pasta dishes were good. My daughter’s ravioli with a garlic/shallot/tarragon filling was unique and enjoyable, though a bit overly al denote. The sauce on my bolognese was quite good, though the pasta was a bit overcooked, Chocolate torte was good as well. Again, our server and other staff were all pleasant. Opera playing in the sparsely filled restaurant was too loud for our liking, but we also never asked if they could turn it down While I’m pointing out some improvement opportunities, the meal was definitely enjoyable overall and we’d return."
