We dined here for dinner. Amazing menu. New American cuisine with an Asian flair. BYOB allowed. Lively vibe. Food was incredible. Fantastic service. Big city quality in a small town. Multiple small plates. Halibut and slow steak to die for.

Friends told us about the Houndstooth for a while but we said “In downtown Benton Harbor??? Finally went Friday night and we’re blown away. Very small menu as far as main courses go but they have a lot of unique items to share. Think Tapas but in a very gourmet way. Great little space with a New York meat packing district vibe. Small but efficient wine list that we had a Pinot Noir “ Stoller” that was very good. We both had the Halibut as that’s one of our favs and a couple sides. Crunchy potatoes were outstanding. We will be back soon as there are a couple more things we need to try. Our server I think his name was Shay) was a hoot and was excellent.

I think it 's a bit overrated and overpriced...Not a very comfortable table to sit at (patio is just an asphalt parking lot)...Bad acoustics inside! Could barely converse with my guest (Alot of brick/concrete walls, etc)... Cocktails were pricey, but tasty...Not a bad amount of tasty, creative dishes...I did enjoy the taste combinations of a few dishes, but not the place for someone looking for decent sized portions. (Somebody bring back the good, ol ' school Supper Clubs ! Definitely not attracting many (Real) Locals...Seems to primarily cater to the Out of Towner crowd. Neighborhood is still a bit sketchy, (be cautious) so not a good area to take a lovely after dinner walk!

This is a cool restaurant that has interesting, well prepared cuisine. And I love that they're making it work in downtown Benton Harbor, where there aren't many thriving businesses. If you go, it's best to make reservations. My very favorites were the crispy potatoes, the sunflower burata, the bbq carrots, and the lime mole brownie. The duds were the noodles, the blackbean chicken, and the slow steak. And as much as I was looking forward to the milk bread, the flavors of the bread and garlic and onions didn't work for me. The service was very good and they were eager to work with any diet restrictions in the group. The food wasn't quite as satisfying as I hoped it would be. It was too salty... Voir le carte
