"The joint was hopping at Friday's lunch run. We got there at about 12:10 so we expected the crowd. The service was very friendly and prompt, the kitchen was a little slow but the restaurant was in full tilt lunch service so I cut them some slack for that. My wife had the Friday lunch special of Catfish (2 x lg fillets) wit homemade fries and a tasty, sweet Coleslaw and 2 hushpuppies. Everything was VERY good except for the hushpuppies which were undercooked and gummy in the middle. The fish was GREAT! I had the large Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed potatoes and gravy; Onion Rings; Salad and Texas Toast. The potatoes were real, not instant and the gravy was good. The Onion strings were crispy and steaming hot. The only complaint was the batter on the steak was way oversized for the meat and the meat was run through a tenderizer and very thin. We'll go again, for sure."

The food was delicious! The staff were very friendly. I believe the restaurant would be even better if they fixed the hole in the wall. Nevertheless, it's a charming traditional café that everyone would enjoy.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!! The hamburger was fantastic and my husband had an awesome patty melt and we shared delicious fries!!! The owner was so friendly and so was her daughter!! We were passing through and I am so glad we stopped!! It has been a restaurant since the 40 's they have shakes and floats as well!!
