"Pub? This charming establishment on The Hill in Grosse Pointe Farms is far more than a typical pub. Casual? Sure, I can agree with that—it's Grosse Pointe, after all. However, calling it just a sandwich and beer joint doesn't do it justice. I recently returned from a week in Martha's Vineyard, where I spent a significant amount on some of the finest cuisine the island has to offer. I can confidently say that the menu at Lucy's Taverne On The Hill is more varied, the presentation is more creative, the waitstaff is just as attentive, the wine selection is impressive, and most importantly, the food is better than what you'll find at the high-end spots in Martha's Vineyard—all at half the price. If I had to pick on something, it would be the flatware, which felt slightly above disposable. Aside from that, I have no complaints—great job!"

"The interior is very small. There is a fine line between cozy and cramped. Especially with a large party taking up several tables. As is common right now, they are understaffed. There was one server on the floor and one bartender. The bartender was running drinks and taking orders for drink refills as well. It was less than ideal as far as service is concerned. Both the server and the bartender were skilled and gracious. They were just being overworked. The food was quite good. I got the seared salmon with broccoli and the tomato cucumber salad. Every bite was delicious. It was very well prepared and extremely fresh. I selected this restaurant as a recommendation from Open Table. I needed a last minute reservation for a birthday. There wasn’t much open in the area for the time that I needed so, I just took the recommendation. I did not take the time to really study the menu. I was surprised to discover that a large portion of the menu is sandwiches. I’d go back for a casual night out. Probably not for a celebration."

"The restaurant was really busy with online orders, so going in to order was the best choice. It took about 15 minutes, and the staff were friendly and attentive, even noticing when some customers were getting a bit too loud at the door. When we got home, the food was still piping hot. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive any utensils, but we had our own cutlery and some spices on hand. The hashbrowns were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The eggs were cooked over medium, with just the right amount of runny yolk—exactly how I like them. The pancakes were enormous and quite a challenge to finish. This was my first visit, and while I enjoyed it, I probably won’t return to this location because it's too far from my friendly neighborhood."

"Overall a good experience, and I usually love coming to this place. The Bagel Lox had less lox than I expected and it is placed awkwardly on the bagel. The flavor was great though, and everything we ordered was included, except they did not give us napkins."
