Made to order sandwiches. Lots of choices with the ability to customize. Pizza as well. Great spot to pick up a bite and go picnic in Balboa. Taste that this place is not busy. They offer call in orders too.

The sandwiches here are fantastic! I tried the Texas Special and the Californian, while my family ordered Benny's Special and a BLT. The portion sizes and the generous fillings made them well worth the price.

The sandwich is king here. Great spot to pick up lunch before an afternoon visit to Balboa Park where the food offering leaves a lot to be desired. Grocery items are priced at a premium; I suppose it’s necessary to pay the rent and I don’t mind supporting a small business. Looking forward to trying the soup. Cheers to delicious meaty sandwiches (get the Ruben it doesn’t disappoint).

I always enjoy visiting this place! It's usually quite busy, so I recommend ordering in advance as it's definitely worth the wait. Since they're often bustling with customers, their focus tends to be on preparing the food rather than customer service, but they're never rude. Perfect spot to find almost anything. If I ever need something from a store and I'm not sure where to find it, I try here and usually have good luck. Some fresh produce is available but it goes fast. The deli is the stuff of legends. Good variety, always fresh, and tastes great. Obviously gets busy around lunch so plan accordingly. There are a few parking spots but it's in a parking problem area so allow time for that too.
