"I don't typically write reviews, but I had to make an exception for this place. We had a group of 12 and the staff were incredibly accommodating, even managing to bump our reservation time up last minute. Throughout the entire three hours we were there, not a single cup was left empty. Our entrees arrived quickly and all at once, which was a pleasant surprise for such a large group. The food was absolutely delicious - the bison burger, in particular, has been voted the best in the city three times for a reason. The service was exceptional! I only wish this restaurant was located in Edmonton so I could dine there more often, but every time I'm in Calgary, I will definitely be returning."

"When we arrived there was a table of very loud (yelling, swearing) drunk men sitting in the centre of the restaurant. We were seated next to them. We asked for another table and after the server first told us they were leaving (they didn’t) and that she’d consult the manager, we eventually got one a bit farther away but could still hear them. They kept serving them more alcohol… not sure that’s legal. Any good restaurant would have escorted them out! Server couldn’t really explain how the small/large plates differed or if they were meant for sharing. Food was overpriced. My rare beef came out medium but by then I was too sick of the place to send it back. One of my friend has risotto that she said was flavourless. Highly overrated."

"My wife and I had an excellent experience at SS106. We shared an order of calamari to begin which was served hot and was cooked perfectly. My wife had the gnocchi and I had the veal and mushrooms. Like the appy the mains were perfectly cooked. The servers were pleasant and very attentive. The only negative comment is that the dining room was very hot due to the extremely hot weather. With a western exposure the air conditioner could not meet the challenge for an early evening sitting during a heat wave. On the other hand we had the option of dining on the well shaded patio but we weren’t aware of its presence until after we began dining. Overall a very pleasant experience."

"A fabulous experience today! I took my friend to lunch at Gyu Kaku and it was his first time coming, my fourth exceptional quality food for a fantastic price that's hard to find anywhere else in Calgary, my friend greatly enjoyed his rice bowl I had the basil chicken and teriyaki ribye (or was it chuck? , the matcha tiramisu was perfectly balanced with earthy, bittersweet, floral, creamy with a trace of dark chocolate. Until next time Gyu Kaku! Y'all are rockstars!"

"A very disappointing experience for our anniversary dinner. My wife went into the restaurant and was seated while I parked the car. The server attended to my wife quickly, however, my wife said she would wait to order a drink until I arrived. Once I was seated, it took twenty minutes for the server to come back to our table and then another ten minutes for our beverages to arrive, so it was half an hour in before we were served drinks. Our food came out in a timely matter and it was good, however, our server did not check up on us until after we had finished our meals. I have been to this restaurant several times previously and enjoyed it, however, on this evening, we certainly did not feel like our business was valued."
