"I love University Place: the cute shops like William and Wayne, Ralph Lauren's Rugby and now I stumbled upon Luke's Lobster(yay! . But I was in the mood for this corner diner on 11th that was cute and cozy--yikes! It's gone! I kept walking because I was in the mood for soup especially on a cold winter day such as today. Then I passed Nanoosh and perused their menu posted on the window. I entered and was told to sit anywhere. I was quickly greeted by my server who served me water and an amuse bouche: a pita triangle with diced kalamata olives, my fave olives from Greece. Delicious! I studied the menu; I was famished and could have ordered one of each. Nice selection of salads: Arugula with carrots, raisins, walnuts and dried cranberries. There's Greek and avocado and lentil. Today's special soup was butternut squash, my fave, which I ordered. There are hummus bowls which comes in original or roasted pepper hummus: one standout is masabaha: warm chickpeas, pickled jalapeños, cilantro hot sauce and lemon parsley tahini. Their wraps feature marinated chicken, falafel and Mediterranean beef. Then there's the power plate where you choose your base: hummus or basmati/ turmeric rice then your protein such as chicken, falafel or beef and 2 toppings: tahini,Baba Nanoosh, lentil salad etc. I will try this next time. So here's my order: butternut squash soup: velvety, rich and creamy. You can get small or large. Then I really wanted falafel which was risky because they put quinoa in the mix which I'm not a fan of but decided to gamble. I ordered a side of hummus tahini and falafel which comes with gluten free pita. The hummus was savory and fresh. Here comes the disappointment: yep the falafel. I like my falafel deep fried and a little spicy. I think the quinoa does nothing for it. But I ate it all and it was very filling. For dessert I had a little slice of baklava heaven. What a great indulgence especially with honey dotted on the side for dipping. The service is accommodating, courteous and super friendly. The restaurant is clean, warm and inviting. Nanoosh caters and has other locations.Seriously need to open in Brooklyn. I shall return!"

Good service, clean and the food was pretty good but I WISH they'd use Fresh Beets not crappy canned ones, sorry, those were yucky.

Food: 3.5/5.0 Service: 2.5/5.0 Value: 3.0/5.0 Decor: 3.0/5.0 Overall: 3.5/5.0 I like the concept but my plate with a hummus base was a heavier than I was expecting. Borderline fourth star. Wouldn't mind coming back but not holding my breath.

Really enjoyed this place when I was trying to find a place to eat with my partner that was affordable, healthy, and delicious tasting Mediterranean food. It's around NYU so it's a great place for students but also anyone who wants a chill ambience and quick food but options to sit down and be served or do take out.

This Mediterranean restaurant is a great spot for a casual meal. The food is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. The portions are generous but not too large. You can customize your own plate to suit your preferences. I particularly enjoyed the baked falafel, babaganoush, beet salad, and spicy red sauce. The beet hummus is also a must-try. I would definitely return if I was in the area and in need of a quick, casual, and relaxed dining experience. Voir le carte

This was a great, inexpensive, fast place to get Mediterranean food. I was introduced here by a friend who has been here many times before. I was very satisfied after leaving here. The hummus was awesome; very smooth and favorable. I ordered it with falafel. I often find that falafel can be hit or miss in terms of density but here it was light and tasty. They were kind to substitute the pita bread for carrot sticks. This is a great, casual lunch place to come for lunch.

I visited this restaurant for lunch on a weekend and was seated right away. I decided to try the chicken shawarma hummus plates, which came with a generous amount of hummus. We also ordered the hot sauce and green sauce on the side, which paired well with the hummus. The hot sauce had a nice kick to it, so I used it sparingly. The pita bread that accompanied the hummus plates was warm and delicious. The chicken was flavorful and tender. The atmosphere was casual and perfect for a midday meal. The service was excellent and I never felt rushed to finish my food.

I was unable to finish my meal at this restaurant. I ordered a chicken power bowl through Mealpal and was very disappointed by the service, portion sizes, and taste of the food. The small portions of chicken and rice were cold, dry, and flavorless, while the cucumbers in the salad were mushy and unappetizing. The wheat pita bread served on the side was a nice touch, but it couldn't salvage the overall blandness of the meal. Additionally, the service was slow despite the lunch rush, with employees more focused on chatting amongst themselves than attending to customers waiting for their orders. Voir le carte

The Mexican place close by was packed and playing loud music....Which I didn't want any part of, so I decided to head towards 14th. Thank God I saw Nanoosh. The menu looked great and the atmosphere seemed chill, just the perfect amount of patrons, so I went in. The service was good and the waiter was just the right about of nice and attentive. I love that they bring hot olives tapenade ? and pieces of bread to the table. I ordered Power Green bowl and added the turmeric rice as an extra . The rice pudding was enough to share w/ someone but sadly, I ate it all myself. It was amazing! topped w/ cardamom and almonds . Food was fresh, tasty, and come out fast. I will definitely go back!

If you're looking for an easy and cozy place to dine in and relax, but don't want to go all out, Nanoosh is a great spot. It's a casual vibe, but it's got contemporary decor that could really be fitting for hanging with friends, a date, a classmate, or colleagues. It's welcoming, to say the least! We were able to sit down immediately during dinnertime, and were even brought a complimentary pita triangle and diced Kalamata olives amuse bouche how sweet! Their food is ultra healthy and filling, and it's relatively affordable for what you're getting, and for this area. Their menu is super varied and has a great selection of Mediterranean salads, soups, bowls, wraps, and more. I got the Marinate...

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
