"NEW REVIEW: We have been to Off the Hook several times over the past several years. In fact, after my initial review (posted at the bottom , we did indeed try again and have been pleased each time. That's what keeps us going back. I don't remember which of the rolls I had, except that it was delicious! We always sit at the sushi counter so we can ask questions. It's Affordable, Delicious, and Friendly! Try OFF the HOOK first. (If you find this review helpful,please let others know by hitting the like button. Thank you Old review: Our waitress, Gabe (gal , was wonderful. I'd easily give her four stars . However, some of the food was good, and other was great, so I have a mixed review. My husband decided he wanted to try a sushi roll and he only ate 1/2, which never happens! But it wasn't very flavorful at all. The Gyozi potstickers were delicious, as were the ribs, and the walnut shrimp was fair. We sat outside and even with the main road right there, it was still pleasurable at 7pm on a Wednesday evening. We heard the traffic noise but it didn't overwhelm our conversation. All the staff were great. So, again, a mixed review. I'd try it again just to compare. And I'd stick to the sushi bar to see how they do with that."

The restaurant lives up to its name as it is truly exceptional. The sushi here is some of the best I have ever tasted. The restaurant is very clean and the service is excellent. I highly recommend visiting this place.

most vegan options I have ever seen at a sushi place. in the rule they can only have something with gurke and avocado, but here they offer rolls with broccoli, tofu, spinach, mushrooms, carrot, avocado, etc. loading of tasty options.

One of the best places I’ve eaten at in Tahoe. I will for sure be returning. I recommend the BBQ short ribs, the yellow tail sashimi and the Gambler roll. The service is also great : the only negative was that we didn’t really love the mochi Voir le carte

This is a great little restaurant, even though all 8 of us were seated quickly. The service was excellent and the happy hour menu is large and delicious. I would definitely return without hesitation. They also have cold nigori-Sake carafes on the happy hour menu, which is a great deal. You can't go wrong with that.

When I read all the reviews about this place I had to try them for myself. Ordered miso soup, sugar mama, funky roll medina, hula girl, crunchy granola and sunomono with fish. Out of the five dish, I would say the sugar mama was the best. Great presentation and a good mix of everything, making it my will definitely order again roll. The crunchy granola and funky roll medina both tied for second. The hula girl was different due to the nuts inside, but for me did not work texturally. The fish on the sunomono was fresh, but the sauce for the sliced cucumbers was bland. Our waitress Mayra was excellent. She was friendly, efficient and even told us what the most popular rolls were.
