"I decided to get takeout since they have gluten free crust. I used to be a regular at the now closed Crystal city location. At that time, Cafe Pizzaiolo was arguably the best pizza in the area. I had high hopes for their gluten free crust. I had to throw out the pizza. The crust was both rubbery and rock hard. The portion that was covered with toppings was rubbery and sticky while the crust was so hard that it was nearly impossible to chew. The bottom of the pizza stuck to"

I visited for their Wednesday date night special and was really impressed with what you get for $35. We received a large Greek salad and a large specialty...

The atmosphere is pleasant and it seems to be a local favorite. The pizza looked delicious, but the pesto sauce for the pasta was more like a watery, green-tinged oil.

Cafe Pizzaiolo continues to be my top choice for pizza. I am never let down by their food. The pizza is outstanding, and their fried mozzarella is fantastic—light and delicious!

We really wish we had ordered the pizza instead. The pasta was average, but the meat was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, everything was a bit too oily. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly. We might come back to check out the specials and happy hours.

The inside is small but smelled good when we walked in. There?s a good amount of outdoor seating as well. Pizza was served hot and prompt. The pizza was good! The crust was thin, cheese was good and it wasn?t too greasy. Would go back for another pizza or to try their other food

I walked in clearly in a hurry and asked if they had any pizza ready. The staff said yes, took my money, and then five minutes later, when I inquired about the pizza, I was told it would be another five minutes. Meanwhile, I overheard the Spanish cook saying it would actually take 15 to 20 minutes. It seems like they managed to keep both my money and the pizza. Good for them! Voir le carte

Can?t believe I just paid $27 for the quality of pizza I just received. I have ordered from here a few times and the pizza was usually pretty good. Tonight, I received a pizza with so little cheese, we had to bring it home, add extra mozzarella to it and put it back in the oven. Not to mention, the toppings were distributed with little to no thought and clumped in two to three areas of the pizza. This will certainly be my last time ordering from here as there are

I didn't see anyone over the age of 21 working when we went. Not necessarily a bad thing, but guess I'm just old enough to be assured if there is a real adult present. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, generally, but there were a few missed that could have been avoided: bringing utensils and a few extra napkins before the food was primary. The pizza was tasty, but a bit soggy in the middle. The burger ordered med was well done, and a side salad (right from the menu

"This place really helped me adjust. I later learned that people gravitate towards certain bars, and I found my favorites, especially those with live music like Birchmere, Black Cat, 9:30 Club, Lincoln, Capital One Arena, and even the now-closed O'Shaughnessy's and Rock & Roll Hotel. One of my most memorable experiences was running into Rory Sheridan on one of my first visits. He was launching his DC music campaign back then and was part of Loud Boyz. We chatted a few times, and I even caught up with some old classmates. Another highlight was when I heard about a “reunion” night before Thanksgiving, and I decided to crash it. There were moments where people could be unkind or I felt out of place, but I was given some guidance on where I would fit in better, without the unnecessary drama. Being in Old Town, I was familiar with nearby schools like West Potomac, Mount Vernon, and Bishop Ireton. During my visits, I would often take an Alexandria cab or use Metro Access, being discreet about my disability since I felt embarrassed at times. Being a regular meant navigating the tourist scene, and there were people who seemed territorial about the place, but I ended up doing quite well when I sold my house. Good times continued with events like watching RG3 play for the Redskins or meetups organized by JT. I enjoyed New Year’s celebrations and weekend outings. I also frequented other establishments like Flying Fish before it closed, and O'Shaughnessy's before I decided to stop drinking. This is a sports bar located near a bicycle shop, close to the Ben & Jerry's I used to work at, along with many other walkable bars for bar hopping, like Union Street Pub and Fish Market. It can be a great place to have fun, but with the good comes some downsides. Overall, I felt well-hosted and respected here, despite some things I was not initially aware of or didn’t want to uncover."
