"Awesome food and impeccable, polite service. Stopped in twice with my partner while on vacation we knew after the first time we would have to be back before we left the Outer Banks. The second time we visited we requested an outdoor table, and although we were the only ones sitting in that section (it seemed as though it had been closed, chairs stacked on tables, etc. they happily sat us at our requested table and even checked if the music was too loud. Our servers were excellent both times I wish I had gotten their names so I could include them in this review. Excellent cocktails and fresh Margaritas, and I would highly recommend La Granara a pomegranate mojito!"

I loved the vegan bowl! I live in a bigger city and this bowl beat every Mexican I had in 7 years! Sad to have eaten there only once!

Our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. Everything was fantastic, except for the empanadas, which were cold in the middle. We would all definitely go back!

I tried the vegan burrito and it was delicious and very filled (also with rest came home). fun atmosphere for dunes in, but they also offer to take orders. if they are looking for some legit food in the obx that will fill it, this is the point.

The bar service was outstanding. We ordered the crispy fajita salad with shrimp, which was非常 fresh. We also requested hard chicken tacos but received soft tacos instead; however, they were just as delicious. Additionally, we tried the frozen margarita, and it was quite good.

Best vegan food on OBX! When ordering anything plant based around here it's always hit or miss on what you get but this place was a WIN! We literally ate here the entire week (every night for dinner). Thanks Plaza Azteca for offering this! Picture: vegan bowl with extra soymeat

I tried the Flag-rita, and it was excellent (definitely give it a Wayne's World-style smile). I also had the Carnitas enchiladas, and let me tell you, the food here is a cut above your typical local Mexican restaurant. It has a more upscale, curated atmosphere. Our waiter was outstanding as well—absolutely fantastic! Voir le carte

What a great find. A really great Mexican restaurant on the beach. We had great service and the food was really great. No complaints from my pile. We didn't expect. Will definitely eat here again on every trip back to the outer banks. Make sure this is also a place for birthdays. It was the best and loudest way to sing happy birthday I've ever seen.

We tried the vegan Fajitas and Tacos. There was a little confusion initially in that the kitchen non-vegan cheese on our beans and rice, but she brought us replacement very quickly. The grilled veggies with the Fajitas were very fresh. The tofu that accompanied the tacos was simple, but the small side of the sauce spiced things up. The staff was very friendly. The outdoor terrace is very dog-friendly; the server gave our pup a bowl of ice water and many pets.

"I never actually ate here, but let me tell you, that was probably for the best. My experience with Kill Devil Grill started with me trying to order food online. Silly me, I thought that would be a straightforward process. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. After fighting with their broken online system, I decided to give them a call. You know, like people used to do in the dark ages before the internet. I was on hold for a while, but hey, I figured they were busy whipping up some delicious food. How naive of me. When I finally got through to the host, I explained my situation, expecting at least a smidge of empathy or, I don’t know, a willingness to help. Instead, I was hit with a line that’s going to be etched in my memory forever: The kitchen said no. This was after they asked, how many things are you going to order? Really? No. Just... no. No explanation, no apology, no attempt to even pretend like they cared. Apparently, asking to place an order over the phone was too much for them to handle. I mean, how dare I want to give them money in exchange for food? The nerve! Look, I’ve dealt with bad service before, but this was a whole new level of ridiculous. The fact that they couldn’t even be bothered to take an order says everything you need to know about this place. Customer service? What’s that? The people running this joint clearly have no clue. Honestly, I’m relieved I didn’t actually get to try their food. If their service is this bad, I can only imagine what the kitchen is like. Maybe the kitchen didn’t say no —maybe it was trying to warn me. In any case, I’ve taken the hint. I won’t be bothering Kill Devil Grill with my pesky orders again. If you value your time, money, or basic human decency, do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this place."
