The Ponder Steakhouse

Amazing place to get some chicken fried steak. They even offer gluten free fried foods! I miss this place so much, do you guys know when you plan to reopen?

Hiding away in Ponder TX, this western style restuarant is awesome! Staff very friendly! Large glasses for drinks and made to perfect order plates. Gonna try their quail plate next time.

had the chicken steak. I was the only one in my party who liked her to roll. the fries were freshly cut and made to order. the cakes looked amazing. I haven't tried to be ordered since I'm still in a cess. Voir le carte

eating was amazing and personal was very friendly! very unique menus, looked like the local time. steak was perfectly cooked and was juicy until the last bite. homemade dressing and dessert were so good that we have something to go. the staff was so helpful, friendly and real. it was a little out of the way, but it was 100% worth the way!

I can not wait for them to reopen! I ate there many times from the late 70's though the mid 90's. Pete was there and she has cut me many slices of pie. I took a friend from out of town one time and he ate 5 pieces of pie I believe after a incredible steak and fries. I now work very close to there and look forward to going again!! Too bad Pete is no longer around to see when you go there. I will always remember her very fondly!

I wanted to hear about the gluten-free Thanksgiving dinner here for years. it was true for his word. it tasted as if it was cooked at home. everything you can eat, full menu, just like mom made. pies galore, mmmm, and they were delish and I had. no stress, no family arguments and no holiday symptoms, because I did not have to clean up afterwards. great service from someone who had to sacrifice their vacation so I could have thought. Great restaurant. Once I had visitors to Texas. I wanted to show them what happened to Texas Steakhouses so I brought them to the Ponder Steakhouse! The fact that it is in Ponder could be overlooked. However, you are missing a lot when you pass this place above. From Burgers who knock your socks from Steaks, you can't beat this place is great. The est part of it all It will not break the bank like some other more expensive and less attractive steakhouses.

This is also called Ranchman's Cafe. I had a 12 ounce fried chicken stealing. It was wonderful. It came with a pound of pommes. I didn't have breakfast or lunch, so I'm hungry. That really hits the point. The cream was great even though I add extra pepper. They also have fruit butter and cakes for dessert. They even had Rhabarb-Piee, but I was too crowded, even to consider a take-out. The Ribeye my dining room partner had was enjoyable, but was a little unseasonal. Important note: If you know that you want a baked potato, you need to call it in time. Hey! What can I say? It's their rule. The restaurant is a step back in time with old signed black and white photos of celebrities from the past...

They're OUT OF BUSINESS! Good thing too, since the 1 time I went, it was obvious how dirty the place was and food was very low grade and horrible tasting. Had to leave it! Other ppl I've spoken with have stated similar stories. I would've given ZERO Stars if had that option. EDIT re owner response: My son and I do regular reviews of places. We do NOT write untruths in our reviews, as we want ppl to know how places and their foods or wares and prices really are. Regarding your place, 2 1/2 years constitutes CLOSED.
