Ray's Deli - Carte

I ordered what was advertised as a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, but it definitely didn't meet my expectations. A picture is worth a thousand words, and as you can see, this is not what you'd expect from a true Philly cheesesteak.

I love this place! They have really good prices and their sandwiches are always made very neat and their ingredients always taste very fresh. I was so happy to find a place that gives you a pickle with your sandwich! And they have a good selection of chips.

If you work in the Columbia tower and need a fast and good breakfast, then definitely go here! Specialtys next door will have you waiting for at least 5-10 minutes. Rays is in and out and delicious. I finally decided to give Ray's deli a try after Specialty's bakery (next door) messed up my order the last 3 times that I've went. Went to Ray's and ordered the NY special with some chips and I had no regrets the sandwich was made as I requested it and the price is right for downtown...I work in the building and this will be my new go to sandwich spot.

A Reuben that isn’t grilled? No, thank you! I stopped by Ray's when I saw that the special of the day was a Reuben—my favorite sandwich. I've tried them all over the country, but this was the first (and only) time I encountered one on toasted rye. That’s like serving a grilled cheese on plain toast; it simply isn’t right. I gave the place 2 stars because the sandwich tasted fine, but it just didn’t have the essence of a true Reuben.

First visit to Ray's today, based on other reviews. I agree with others that the food was pretty good, quick and decent value. But a couple of oddities: I tried to order a Veggie toasted sandwich...nope, they were all out (how do you run out of all veggies? . Also, they put their sandwiches in plastic containers and then hand them to you in a plastic bag. Why not just wrap them in paper? Both are then compostable and better for the environment. This restaurant is truly disappointing. I genuinely wonder how it's still in business and how they manage to afford their rent. The tomato basil soup was absolutely terrible; I should have taken a photo of it because its texture and appearance immediately made me realize that if I took another bite, I would likely end up feeling very ill. The toasted turkey sandwich was a complete letdown and poorly made. If I wanted to waste $15, I would at least have chosen one of the nice restrooms in Columbia Tower to do so, rather than risking my health by eating here.

Awesome little mom and pop deli in the Columbia Tower next to Specialties. This is the owner. He's really nice. I've been coming here for breakfast samiches for years. Sausage Bacon Egg Cheese on an everything bagel is $5.50. Credit cards accepted over $4. The owner and his son both work here and maybe other family too. Buy Local! Thanks for breakfast! I work several blocks away and I love this place. I've worked downtown for 7 years. They Have a great selection for lunch sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches. You might want to get there before eight in the morning in order to get the bagels. This is a way better deal than specialties. Enjoy!

I had a surprising good breakfast burrito from Ray's deli. The place that made me a breakfast burrito in another office building was atrocious, so it is good that I have this option. This one had meat and eggs and salsa and sour cream. It ended up being moist without being sloppy and runny. Tortilla they used to wrap it was pretty good and didn't get soggy or dried out from a microwave or anything. It was clearly made to order, as were the constituent pieces of it (i.e., the eggs were not pre-cooked, etc. . They also have some interesting goodies tucked away in little alcoves you might not otherwise see. I found some interesting potato chips that looked like a company in Colorado or somethin...
