"The good: the pasta dishes. The bread. The service. The bad: the prices. You will get up charged for a side salad (not included with the pasta dishes). Ordered a pizza that came out very very doughy. Wouldn’t do that again. Overall it’s decent. "My girlfriend and I came to this restaurant to celebrate our one year anniversary. We had a fantastic experience, with a variety of delicious dishes such as bacon wrapped scallops, crab rangoon, stir fry with beef tips, and a tasty Delmonico steak. Overall, all the courses were great, although my girlfriend thought the French Onion soup was a bit weak. For dessert, we enjoyed a delicious cheesecake slice with caramel sauce and peanut butter pie. I highly recommend this restaurant for its intimate ambiance and small seating area. Parking is limited to street parking only, so it's best to make a reservation, especially on weekends. The restaurant is kid-friendly with paper table coverings for drawing. The service was excellent and the price per person for dinner was between $30 and $50. Overall, I give the food and service a rating of 5, and the atmosphere a rating of 4. Recommended dishes include the Crab Rangoons and Bacon Wrapped Scallops. There is plenty of parking available on the street for free."

"My first visit, definitely will not be my last! We moved to Elmira from Syracuse about 2 years ago and this was our first visit to Louies. This was the best dining experience I've had in 10 years. Louies has a great ambience, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Barbara was our server and she was on point, it appeared all the staff was too. Drinks always full, she was very attentive but not overbearing. The food... OMG the food. The bread was phenomenal (I'm very picky about my bread), I am also funny when it comes to fountain soda, the mixes are always different. There's was perfect. The salad was good, but it's salad... I'm not going to get too excited for salad. We both got the butcher block special, with the garlic butter. It was a delicious perfectly done steak. We also got the fettuccine alfredo, which is the best fettuccine alfredo I ever had. the texture of the noodles were spot on, the Alfredo wasn't too rich.. it was perfect. Everything about our meal tonight was perfect.We are now regulars at Louies Hanover Square."
