"We went here with a church group. Great waitress. She had approx 28-30 people. If you get the seafood bar you can go up after the waitress takes your drink order. Water, soda, ice tea is free with buffet. Buffet was $26. Plus tax per person. There are several other dishes you can get that are 11. To 20. pretax. Resturant was not loud, but has a lot of people that come here. 2 different rooms to sit in. I don’t have a photo today, but we are going back and will get one then."

"We had a fantastic on a beautiful Saturday evening. The weather was perfect for sitting outside in the screened in porch. We were seated immediately despite arriving at peak dinner hour (7pm) and drink orders were taken within 5 minutes of arrival. We (bride and I) ordered a bowl of crab/corn chowder to split for a starter and she had a large Greek salad and I had the Lambchop special. The HUGE bowl soup arrived piping hot and the corn and crab played well off eachother and delivered a sweet, velvety taste of the sea! My wife’s salad was.a large bowl of greens, feta, kalamata olives, cucumbers, pepperoncini, onions and ripe tomatoes. She was VERY pleased with the homemade Greek dressing she ordered on the side. My lambchops (3) were large and meaty and cooked exactly to order (med rare)! They were seasoned perfectly and the two sides I ordered (brussel sprouts and spinach) were both perfectly on point! I have to admit, after reading several disparaging (recent) reviews we were a little suspect, but do not worry, this place knows their stuff (both front on the house and kitchen) and they take great pride in delivering a great experience! 5-Stars here folksand great prices to boot!"

"Would not recommend this place. Ate here many times. had family in from out of town and drove from New Bern to treat them. Was told since i was in a wheel chair i could not eat there they didnt have anyone that could come downstairs to the seating area. Did t even allow us to even do takeout and serve ourselves. Very disappointed and will never be back. Will never give this place my business again. Very disappointed.."

"Nestled by the water, Toucan Grill and Fresh Bar boasts a picturesque location that promises a relaxing dining experience. However, my recent visit left much to be desired.The restaurant's prime waterfront location offers stunning views and sets the stage for an enjoyable meal. The service, too, was commendable, with attentive staff ensuring a fast and polite experience. However, the initial positive impressions were overshadowed by several disappointing factors.While the service was prompt, the same cannot be said for the food. Despite the efficient service, there was an extensive wait for our meals to arrive. However, it's worth noting that the grilled chicken stood out as a highlight, delivering on flavor and tenderness. Unfortunately, the overall quality of the dishes did not match the steep prices, leaving us feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. Outdoor Patio Atmosphere: Adding to the disappointment was the outdoor patio area, which was enclosed with plastic for the winter season. While understandable, what followed was unacceptable. Shortly before our food arrived, people began to smoke on the patio, where we were seated. As the crowd of smokers grew, the cigarette smoke permeated the air, overwhelming both the food and the atmosphere. This intrusion of smoke tainted what should have been a pleasant dining experience, leaving a sour taste in our mouths.In conclusion, while Toucan Grill and Fresh Bar may boast a prime location and commendable service, the overall experience fell short of expectations. The slow arrival of food, coupled with mediocre quality and high prices, left much to be desired. However, the grilled chicken stood out as a highlight, showcasing the potential for excellence. Furthermore, the intrusion of cigarette smoke on the enclosed patio significantly detracted from the dining atmosphere. Unless improvements are made to address these issues, it's difficult to recommend Toucan Grill and Fresh Bar as a dining destination, although it could easily earn a higher rating if not for the smokers' presence."
