"We had dinner here on a week night. The restaurant is "smallish" so we made reservations on Open Table. Most of the tables were full and a large group came in as we were leaving. I recommend making reservations for dinner on weekends. There are several tables for two people and fewer for four people. The decor was exactly what we were expecting based on the name and what we had read. It was comfortable and intimate. The menu has a nice selection of small starters meant for sharing and tasting as well as slightly larger main dishes mostly with jasmine rice served on the side. We ordered the pakoras, mango salad, beef naan flatbread, shrimp curry, and spicy coconut chicken. Everything was an explosion of flavours mixed perfectly with a good kick of spice. We truly felt like we had visited a few different countries from the selection of food. Our waiter did a great job of assisting us when we ordered. We also had some drinks and the gelato dessert and milk pastry. The meal came to about $108 not including the tip for three people. We took home some of the chicken and flatbread as we were full. The dishes are smaller proportioned but really satisfying and perfect in size. Our waiter was Troy and he was informative, funny, and truly added to the wonderful experience. The owner was also there and took time to talk to people at each table. This restaurant is truly a gem along Queen Street West. The quality of the food, tastes, excellent service and overall fun experience leads me to a 5 star rating that I would recommend to friends. The desserts were especially interesting at the end with floral tastes. All of us said that we had never had such wonderful and different flavours of some traditional dishes. We will definitely return to try something new from the menu."

This place is a great little hidden gem. Our dishes were a delightful fusion of spices and beef/chicken. Great ambience, friendly service. Everything was delicious.

I was taken to this spot by a friend. I have to say this is one of the best restaurant meals I have ever had. The chef is a true chef in every sense of the word. She has created innovative and new combinations of dishes and flavors. This is a must-try spot!

All the dishes we ordered were exquisite - the flavors were amazing. The portion sizes are somewhat small but the full flavors make up for it. The service was very mediocre though. There was one waiter who seemed so bored and unenthusiastic about his job that all the dishes he brought to our table were placed to almost drop off the table.

Pleasant service, good quantity of food and nice cocktails. We had the Chef's Menu (essentially a tasting menu), all dishes were ok but nothing specatular. The Ismailli beef had a nice flavour, but the beef pieces were over cooked and chewy. It seemed the overall quality of the meat dishes were not great, the vegetarian options seemed to fair better. I took my family for my mom's birthday after reading a number of good reviews and it completely exceeded expectations! The food is exceptional! I'll be letting everyone I know, this is a "must do" restaurant. To top it off, it's in a great location and the decor is beautiful. Had the cauliflower, pakoras bravas, Beef curry, the beef short ribs special, eggplant naan, and whole fish. Everything was foodgasm level!

I have been travelling across Canada for 5 months and had some very ordinary meals, until tonight. I stumbled across the Rickshaw Bar and enjoyed every morsel of my tasting plate of 4 courses plus desert. The ecletctic mix of diverse cultures has created a menu that must be tasted. Jonathon my waiter and Noureen the owner explained every dish and made me feel like a close family member. Do not miss this little piece of Nirvana.

Visited again and it appears that the locals have found this great dining experience. Both tables on either side were locals and the place filled quickly right after the 6 pm opening on a Saturday night. Used the Open Table online reservations to get a spot. Wonderful flavour combinations and the starter sharing plates provide lots of variety. The owner and chef Noureen has stayed true to her passion and family traditions and each plate shows her passion for creating a quality dining experience. Voir le carte

The curries were also fantastic, with a unique blend of flavors that set them apart from other restaurants. The ambiance is perfect for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends, thanks to the chic industrial interior. Don't miss the falooda for dessert, featuring rosewater gelato with pineapple, chili noodles, and basil seeds. And be sure to meet the owner, Noureen, who is incredibly kind and welcoming. She even had a special paneer dish made for us that wasn't on the menu. Overall, Rickshaw takes Asian fusion cuisine to a whole new level. I highly recommend it.

Rickshaw Bar serves up a blend of south and south-east Asian dishes in a wonderfully renovated space (comfortable wooden tables and exposed brick walls accented by funky throw-back lighting). The menu is full of creative dishes and built for sharing. It's best to start with a bunch of their "snacks" to get you going. The three of us shared the Pakora Bravas (a creative and superb twist on a Spanish favourite), Scallop Ceviche (a tiny portion but excellent) and Chicken 685 (fried chicken with jicama. gochujang and kashmiri chili - very good). We then moved on to the Spiced Coconut Chicken, Ismali Beef Curry and Shrimp Makai Curry for our mains. Combined with the starters, these three dishes wer...

"I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a fine dining experience. This meal surpassed anything we’ve had in the last two years: just prior to the pandemic, we travelled to and ate superbly in Melbourne and Penang, Malaysia; our meal at...El Tenedor surpassed those meals and anything we’ve had since. We shared two appetizers, one based on scallops and the other using smoked salmon; each was absolutely delicious, w a variety of tasty ingredients, all very flavourful since organic ingredients are typically used. For mains, I enjoyed fish in papillote while my meat-loving spouse savoured his delicious short ribs with a happy smile. There were not a lot of choices, but options did include seafood or fish, vegetarian and the aforementioned red meat treat. Chef Cesar recommended the wine…a full-bodied, balanced Italian that was so delicious….we’ve never had a tastier Primitivo (we drank two bottles lol). Chef surprised us with a special dessert when he heard it was our wedding anniversary. There were only tables being served that night; it was just like a little bistro in the Pyrenees. Our honeymoon was in France. This meal brought us back there. El Tenedor has a little patio where pooches can join but air conditioning seemed to exhaust onto it, making it feel like the south of Spain. We hope to return again soon for another special occasion."
