A surprisingly enjoyable experience and particularly enjoyed by our pre-teen aged kids, who loved the Japanese take on fondue. It's really healthy too.

It's a perennially underrated neighborhood haunt that those of us in the UES hopes stays that way. Staff has been there for decades. Appetizer items are inventive change frequently. Omakase sushi is a consistent pleaser.

We were fortunate to secure a table near the bar around 8 PM, in a section of the restaurant that was empty except for us, allowing for a nice, quiet atmosphere. I tried shabu-shabu for the first time, and it was delicious, especially the vegetables that came with it. The service was also excellent.
