"5 Stars isn 't enough to rate our experience. The food and service were amazing and second to none. We had a 10 top on NYE 2019 and hoped for the best since it was everyone 's first time at Shakou. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, modern and trendy with an upbeat vibe... which we loved. We were immediately seated for our reservation. Our server touched our table constantly throughout the entire evening, we never needed anything. The food and drinks were amazing! My favorite story about this night was the manager coming to our table after we 've occupied it for about 3.5-4 hours. He very politely asked if we could do him a favor and move our party to the common area by the bar so they could seat another party. He was of course aware we had already eaten and had dessert and were in the process of concluding our night anyways. This was a VERY reasonable request given it was NYE and we had the table for about 4 hours. We were happy to move our party to the bar area where they were nice enough to thank us with complimentary champagne. Awesome touch! The owner also came out to thank us for coming in and inquire on our experience to ensure it was a pleasant one. I cannot recommend Shakou enough. We 'll absolutely be back and thank you for making our NYE a great night!"

The ambiance is the best part of the experience. I found the rolls to be a bit underwhelming in flavor. Except the volcano roll. Definitely get that roll. Our server kept going MIA for long lengths of time so unfortunately there were times where we waited with empty cocktails and waters. It was just overall slow moving. 2.5 hours for dinner is a very long time and the restaurant wasn’t really that busy.
