"As usual, we had a delicious dinner. We always love the chicken tikka- tender and very flavorful. We also enjoy a lamb dish that is served sizzling hot in an iron pot. The owner always makes the best recommendation when we can't decide or are looking to try something new. This time we tried a wonderful eggplant dish that I know will now be part of our dinner every time we go. We always order the aloo sag mushroom. We love the garlic and onion naan bread. There seems to be an infinite variety of great vegetable dishes. The service is great- attentive, anticipatory and polite but never overbearing. Shalimar has been a neighborhood staple for many years and is dependable and delicious."

I’ve given mid-range scores but that’s because I don’t know either way. I would love to tell you all about the food, etc. but unfortunately when we arrived for our 3pm reservation the restaurant was closed and wouldn’t reopen for dining in until 5pm. Apparently they close their dinning room from 2:30 to 5. Voir le carte

Had a reservation on a busy night, host let out a deep sigh when I told him and didn’t ask for my name or any information, just walked away. They were obviously overwhelmed and many patrons were becoming visibly and audibly frustrated with the service, or lack thereof. Waited 45 minutes past my reservation and watched another couple get up to get their own menus, and another couple say we’re going to leave if you don’t take our order. Left shortly thereafter.

We went on Valentine’s Day, only because OpenTable showed openings for reservations. Our reservation was for 715 and we stood there for about 15 minutes before even being acknowledged because they were servicing the people with takeout orders! We finally got seated after voicing that we had a reservation… And then did not get food order taken for another hour after that! I don’t understand why they would except reservations on a night that they could not service they are in restaurant patrons. Very unfortunate night. I won’t be going back Valentine’s Day or ever

"They do provide delivery through Restaurants on the Run, but for a hefty fee. Anarbagh offers free local delivery within a five-mile radius, or you can place a takeout order to enjoy a 15% discount. Be prepared for a small wait during dinner hours, as this place has become quite popular. The restaurant has recently been remodeled with new booths, stunning watercolor sky murals on the ceiling, and updated lighting. Street parking on Ventura Blvd. can be tricky, but there is free parking available at the back. The chicken tikka masala here is the best I’ve tasted, having tried it at numerous Indian restaurants across the country. The sauce is rich and creamy, with a wonderful blend of spices and tender, perfectly cooked chicken. One standout dish that I particularly love is the Lamb Mango Masala—tender chunks of lamb in a sauce that tastes like a blend of sweet BBQ and mango chutney. It’s delicious and a great option for those who claim they don’t like lamb. Their dinner for two is an incredible deal at under $40 and includes everything from appetizers and chicken tandoori to a meat curry, a vegetable dish, rice, naan bread, papads, chutney, dessert (gulab jamun, ice cream or baklava), and your choice of soft drinks or tea/coffee. There's also the occasional $10 off coupon in the local mail, which makes it even more appealing. My only wish is that they had a lunch buffet like many other Indian restaurants in the area, but their exceptional dinner offerings more than compensate for that."
